You can see this used to be an excellent campground based on the spacious flat sites within a short walk to the rim and spectacular vistas. Boulders have been placed in front of all backing and all vehicles, rvs, trailers and campers are required to parallel park on the blacktop, in front if each site, rather than pull in. The blacktop road was not designed wide enough for this and looks overcrowded and make for tight maneuvering around the loops. Secondly, the inside of the blacktop tools off sharply, making leveling a problem from inside to outside. Was hoping to stay at FR 9350 down the road but full. This worked as a back up location, but the parallel camping is a negative mark.

“Older Forest Service Campground. ”

Campground closed in March but we were able to ride our mountain bikes through the campground.
Road is paved to the campground. Basic turnout sites, picnic tables and fire pits.
Close to the Mogollon Rim Visitor Center and trailhead parking. The Rim Trail is well worth doing! Beautiful area!

This was fantastic. It was very open, there is a ranger and host and they monitor area but are very nice. They just want to make sure campers are not being too loud or leaving a mess. Great place.
