“Pretty But Site 3 Has Noisy Buses”

Overall Rating

The park is pretty. A nice lake with a paved walking path all the way around. Free fishing. We stayed in Site 3 which is on the northwest corner of the lake. Unfortunately, it's also 100 yards away from the county school bus parking lot. Fifteen diesel buses running at high idle, testing their horns, and running their backup beepers at 5:30 am is a bit...noisy. The rest of the time is was relatively peaceful. I'd try staying on the southeast side of the lake in Site 2 if I were there on a school day again.

First come, first served. Sites 2 and 3 can accommodate RVs. Sites 1 and 4 are tent-only walk-in spots. Drinking water hydrant available near the pavilion at Site 3.

Pay at the city admin building at 153 North Franklin ST (just a bit south of the park). After hours arrival, pay the next day.
