Beautiful location right in the middle of the redwoods, more like a campground with hookups
Trail down to river, pool, good restaurant and bar, good selection at store
Bathrooms could use some updating

We stayed here in early November, during our tour of the redwoods. The location is a perfect base for exploring the local attractions, including the Avenue of the Giants. We stayed here in early November, during our tour of the redwoods. The location is a perfect base for exploring the local attractions, including the Avenue of the Giants. Since it was the off season, the campground was not full. It is a beautiful setting surrounded by majestic trees. It is right next to the highway, so you do hear the traffic, but it's not bad. The pull-thru that we stayed in was roomy enough for our 25' trailer and truck. There was a charge for the wi-fi but because of the trees, speed is poor. No cell service, either. But we were there to enjoy nature so not a big deal. The owner and staff were all quite friendly. Danielle and Theresa were very helpful with reservations and check-in, and Cameron and James were super accommodating when we needed help with our trailer. Take a pass on the fish and chips at The Pub, though; we paid +$30 for what tasted like it came from a frozen food box. Instead, make the 20 minute drive north to Garberville where you’ll find a small town with groceries and a few restaurants. Overall, we would stay here again.

Overall Rating
Stayed 1 night, good pull through site. They have lots of amenities, we just didn’t use. We’d camp here again for a longer stay. Oh, and no cell service. But, good free WiFi.
