Stayed here after reservations closed, was able to still get a spot. Quiet with good trail access to the river. Would stay again. Showers are free now and very clean.

No other campers in my entire loop. Water is shut off (not stated on website and no discount) but potable water at dump station to fill tank or carry jugs—no big deal. Bathrooms close with hot showers. Great easy trails and river is nearby. Campsites are nice with tables and fire pits. Host very nice and helpful. $30 / night in January.

One of the nicest State Parks we have stayed in. Sites are generous and facilities look like new and are excellently maintained. Nice walks and places to sit by the river. Beautiful trees and undergrowth. A great place to stop after coming across N Cascades Hwy going east to west. However, the mosquito season was in full force when we were here in late July. Made it impossible to enjoy the campsite so we escaped to the river bank.

My wife and I love Rasar. There are a variety of trails onsite. The sites are nice and wooded. Good separation between them. The entire place is well cared for. Both sites were very private and nicely shaded. There are many trails throughout the park, and it was a great place to explore the beautiful Northern Cascades from.
The restroom facilities were well maintained, and it may be one of the best WA State parks we’ve stayed in so far. It’s a newer park - built in 1997. There is a dump station on site.
It is expensive to stay in a State park here in WA, but we have found the amenities sometimes worth it. The serviced site was $45 per night and the non-serviced site was $32 per night. There is an additional $8 on-line booking fee, on top of the nightly charges.
Highly recommend, and we will stay there again!

When our primitive camping spot on a nearby lake didn't work out, we were lucky enough to find a spot here. Since it was the middle of July, everything was sold out - except space 29. Apparently, they leave this as the only first-come, first-served spot. If you get the spot, you can have it for up to 10 days. The only caveat is that you must fill out a new registration slip each day by 1 pm.
The outer loop is mostly large pull-throughs with lots of privacy, a picnic table and fire ring (with grill). The inside loop is a mix of single and multi-unit spots. Lots of families were taking advantage of the latter. The bathrooms were standard State Park facilities with above average showers ($0.50 for 3 min).
Great trails throughout the park and across the street through the group camp areas. Easy access to the river.
Amenities nearby are limited, but you can get mostly what you need in the town of Concrete. Otherwise, the town of Burlington is about 30 minutes away and has everything. There is a nice little brewery up the road makes some good beers. They have a lunch/dinner menu with mostly burgers and other bar type food.
Marginal cell service (even with a booster) and the price ($32 without hookups) is what keeps this from being a 5 star spot.

I checked out a little campsite on Grandy Lake a few miles from here, it was much cheaper, but it was full. I must add that I do have 3 bars of Verizon LTE which is blazing fast. If you’re in need of a place to stay for the night, consider a hotel before staying here.

A great State Park close to Anacortes and I5. The park was gifted to the state about 20 years ago so it's one of the most up to date and well planned out state parks in Washington. There are 30 or so camp spots with about half having partial hookups. The space between sites is very good and the woods add even more coverage. There are easy walking trails in the park where you can explore the big field, walk in the woods, or stroll along the Skagit River. There's also a dump station.
BONUS: it's a 40 minute walk to the Birdsview Brewery.
We stayed here for free with our All Access Pass.

Very forested feel, many miles of meandering trails, easy access to the river, bike-riding allowed on trails, and TWO playgrounds. Bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained. Note that they turn off the water in "winter", an in late Feb it still wasn't on.
While we were here, a ranger came by with a nice Junior Ranger activity, with an extra bonus: A nice wood Junior Ranger badge like the national parks have. Turns out the rangers from nearby Rockport State Park do this, so we hustled out there and got a second awesome wood Junior Ranger badge :) Rockport has great hiking among an old-growth forest too, which is really special.
Town of Concrete is nearby, with an excellent bakery, and a library with Fortnite-playing child-approved WiFi.

One of our favorite places to camp. We stayed during November so it was self check-in with our reservations. This quiet campground is in the Skagit River Valley with easy access to the river. One of the things I enjoy is the accessible trail from the day use area down to the rivers edge. This is a well maintained paved trail. This is a great place to observe the many Bald Eagles that frequent the river during the winter months. A large heard of local Elk can also be seen in the area.
Many of the site have 30 amp hook-up with water the rest being dry camping. Most of site are in the trees so if you are depending on solar you won't get much here. There is a convenient dump station near the entrance. The day-use area is nice and has a nice playground for the kids. The bathrooms are clean and do have showers. We have always found the park to be very clean and well maintained.
The park is near Baker Lake and all of it's many attractions from boating to miles of hiking. We also enjoy going to the 5B's Bakery in the nearby town of Concrete.
