Fill with water before score proceeding to gate house, otherwise you will have to go all the way through the park and back out again to fill. We saw many folks set up and then have to take down to go get water. Nice day area. The Rainbow Falls are a 1 minute walk from the parking area. Easy walk but there are steps. Nice bathroom and shower facilities. The ranger station has a few sundries for sale. And ice.
Since it’s a provincial park, the electric is not at the site directly. It’s between the sites. Our 25’ power cord was sufficient.
We have a 3 for site quality only because of it being of level and the amount of roots. Watch your ankles.
No internet.
We had LTE on Verizon.

Rainbow Falls consists of two campgrounds - a smaller one on Lake Superior (Rossport) and a larger one on Whitesand Lake. We used Whitesand Lake as our base to hike the Casque Isles Trail at the beginning of August. The price above is for a non electric site and includes both a seniors discount and the HST. The campground offered limited recycling, two sandy beaches, amazing showers (the pressure was the best we had on a 2 month trip) and good hiking. Our site was difficult to back into (we thought that any big rig would have difficulty in the campground)but was large and level. It was very close to the comfort station and had good privacy. If you don’t need services 54-56 are all very large and private.
We were hiking the Casque Isles in segments rather than a thru hike and Rainbow Falls is in the middle of 2 of the segments. We made arrangements for a shuttle to drop off us at the end and then we hiked back to the campground (contact the Casquile Hiking Club or Hike Superior) and it worked really well. For the shorter segments, we just hiked out and back. We really enjoyed the trail - it offered a wide variety of terrain and levels of difficulty.

The whitesand Lake Campground Has several loops.I would recommend the Maggie loop as most Sites in that loop Are fairly level and spacious. This loop has a lot of seasonal Campers. I do not recommend the selim loop sites 1-21 As the road in Has a lot of potholes and Overhanging trees that Scrape your RV And the sites are small and very unleveled. The other two loops do not have electricity. The bath house And showers where clean. Laundry was very reasonable. But one dryer was not working And we spent an extra three dollars before we figured out That the gas was shut off to that particular dryer. Very quiet campground. The hikeTo see the waterfall Is well worth it. It's one of the nicest waterfalls I've ever seen. There is a small lake with canoe rentals and a nice picnic area. We had a good cell signal. This is the only provincial park where they charged us an extra $8 for our tow vehicle.
