Quiet, very clean, water, power, bathrooms, beautiful views and all for $6. Don’t let the distance from the main road - about 3 miles - road is sand but very compact and accessible. Thank you BLM!

This is the second time we've camped here. This is a terrific Nevada State Park, which opened in 2018. So things are still fresh and they are doing improvements. Appears they have planted a lot of trees surrounding the Quail Run campground (the one with water and electricity hookups). The $10 nightly fee we paid was due to having a Nevada Senior Annual Permit, which eliminated all fees, except for the $10 hookup fee. A great benefit! Verizon signal was 3-4 bars with a download speed of 20-40 Mbps.
The campground is barren, which is expected as a high desert area. There is the Walker River nearby. Clean restrooms and showers. The restroom and shower building (just the one) is centrally located and is less than 100 yards from all RVs sites. There are 6 restroom (4 which includes accessible showers). Camped in April, so the river shores were still a little barren. Fishing, kayaking and canoeing can be done. Or just to get away from the city and enjoy a very quiet campground. Only 19 RV sites are pull through and maybe 8 can accommodate two RVs (two hookups at these sites). The sites have 20, 30 & 50 amp power & water.
We camped in a Winnebago Travel Trailer.
Positives:
+ RV sites (19) are well separated, and all are pull-through sites.
+ A centrally located restroom and shower building. Restrooms are not heated (burr), but the showers have hot water.
+ Showers are free, just need to press the buttons to keep the water flowing.
+ Each site has a metal shade Ramada, a metal picnic table and a fire ring and the sites are smooth and fairly level.
+ Firewood is available (donation requested) at the entrance to the campground.
+ Many trails to and along the river, restricted to pedestrians, bikes and horses.
Negatives:
- 4 miles of gravel road from the highway to the State Park entrance. But the roadway was in good condition, just dusty with a few areas of washboard. They were grading the road when we drove in.
- Barren, high desert ranchland. Not much greenery.
- No sewer hook ups, but this is normal for Nevada State Parks. They do have a convenient dump station as you exit the campground.

Another campground Riverbend has all as listed for Quail Run except no power/water. Here is the website: http://parks.nv.gov/parks/walker-river. Best to buy the Annual All Access pass, particularly if you are over age 65. Without access pass there is entry fee and $20 per nite for hookup, plus $15 per nite if you have a "chase" vehicle like we do. So it can add up. 12.3 miles from town of Yerington for gas, shopping, services. Access road to this state park is very washboarded, but we made it slowly with our Class A.

No problems getting in on the long dirt road since the graders and water trucks were out working on it when we arrived.
Verizon phone/hotspot worked fine without a booster. AT&T barely usable without the booster but worked fine with it.

Nice new campground outside Yerington. After turning off the pavement road a couple miles south of town, it’s a 3.8 mi decent grated dirt road to get to the camp entrance. Speed limit is 25mph, but in a 33’ class C towing a Jeep, we only went 10-15mph because in spots the washboard road would rattle us like crazy going any faster. There’s two different camp areas with either hookups or no-hookups. The camp area without hookups is a little nicer with more grass/alfalfa all around. The campground with water/power is similar but not as green, and just a little confusing to get to because the signs don’t really say where to go But it’s east of the visitor center and down the road from the dump station.
Website says 30’ max length but we’re 33’ Class C+tow car and had zero issues since there are mostly pull thrus and lots of options since it’s not super busy.
When we were here the water spigots at each campsite had a note saying to fill your tank only and not leave the spigot on because of major leaks they were trying to fix with the manufacturer.
Bathrooms are new and clean with showers.
Big shady trees are a ways from the campsites but they have a bunch of baby trees started and a big metal shade structure at each site. There was a trailer of firewood that had a sign ‘donations appreciated’
There’s a nice trail along the Walker River to walk, ride bikes, fish, etc.
Not a whole lot to do out here besides trail riding, exploring the desert, fishing, and enjoying some peace and quiet without any road noise or light pollution.
-$15/night to camp, plus $10/night if you want power (20/30/50A) and water hookups
-some sites have 2x water/power hookups to camp with two rvs in-line with each other as a group
-Dump station and garbage
-nice clean/new bathrooms with showers
-each site has nice metal table, fire ring, and shade structure
-no reservations but maybe only 5 other trailers here with lots of room to spare midweek middle of July 2019
-Boosted Verizon signal to 3 bars LTE in the rv but lost reception near the river. It’s either you have LTE or no service with Verizon.
