As of April 2024, the entrance road is under construction and one way (north) 24/7. If you miss the entrance, you will have to loop around (5-7 miles). I suspect the road will take all season to complete. Construction starts at 7A. Noise ins’t too bad.

Beware of the Entrance to this park. I would not recommend trying to enter this park after dark if you have a fifth wheel. The main entrance is a steep downhill into the park with a curve. There are two other steep entrances that are gated and have to be opened by the park staff. There are two exits as well but they have spike strips to keep people from entering those exits. We tried going in the main entrance and the truck and fifth wheel touched. we also tried one of the other entrances and it was too steep as well. For reference we have 7" of clearance between the truck and 5th wheel and the fifth wheel is level while in tow. We were able to go down to the boat launch exit in the day light and get into the park. we had to pull past the boat launch exit and back down the exit. thankfully a friend of ours had some flat plastic jack pads to place over the spike strips and then we slowly backed the tires over the plastic pads.
the only road into the park was under construction at the time of this review and it was a one way. the staff said they generally have people that can't get into the park, through the main entrance, drive down the boat ramp exit while depressing the spike strips .
This campground is built in the side of the hill by the reservoir. the newer part of the park has some larger sites.
We stayed in site 26. It was easy to get into. The views in the morning are amazing. The park staff was very friendly and helpful.
The dump station was up the hill on the way to the exit. the shower house and bathrooms were very nice and kept clean.

There are two state parks nearby this one, and Sand Hollow just up the road. Sand Hollow was built primarily for off-road vehicles so if you like motorcycles and four-wheel drives that's the place to be as a lot of the trails run right next to the campground. But if you like a little more peace and quiet on a beautiful little reservoir this is your spot!
Hiking trails right from the campground and paddling and fishing on the reservoir.

There is an old section and new section at this campground. The new section has gorgeous views, level sites, and very nice picnic tables that are covered. Be careful when you make your reservation if you were in the old section because some sites are dry and some have partial hook up. And sometimes it’s not obvious.

Our last stop before SoCal is here. The new section has water and power and a dump station. The views are lovely. We are so grateful to be back in a public campground after two nights in imperfect private RV parks. We will be back as it is an excellent first or last stop on I-15.

We had a dry camping spot but there are sites with electric. No dump stations. The bathrooms are flush toilets, no showers and in need of updating. It appears a new loop is going to open soon with all that this one was lacking. We would stay here again for sure. We liked it better than nearby Redcliffs and in the future would stay here and drive to Redcliffs for day use.

There are pull through, back in, and handicapped sites. Each has a covered picnic bench. Some have electricity. I think they all had tent pads too. Nice, clean bathrooms w/flush toilet & sink/water. No showers. There is water and dump station. There is a campground host on site. We were just passing through but this would be a nice place to stay for a few days. Hiking & mountain biking trails across the street. Also looks like the park may be expanding to accommodate more campers.
NOTE: Gate closes at 9PM so get there before then or you won’t get in.
