Also just a few miles from the cute little town of Prescott.
The campground itself is very very dusty and all gravel with no grassy areas for dogs but the park at the lake has great green areas.
Strangely the bathrooms on the top loop are gross but the ones below are beautiful and newly renovated Just FYI- walking down the hill is worth it if you use campground facilities.
The back in sites are the nicest. You either have views of town or rocks in your backyard.
We loved hiking and paddle boarding at Watson Lake!
And were visiting during Covid19 and the staff did a great job keeping folks safe.

We sort of ended up in Prescott by chance. We wrecked our rig and truck and after dealing with insurance, found a new rig and truck in Prescott, so we headed that way. We stayed in Prescott for 4 weeks (1 week in a hotel) and 3 weeks at the campground. I mention this because we knew absolutely nothing about Prescott and it turned out the be a wonderful experience.
The campground is nestled in among the Dells and these giant rocks are gorgeous. We hiked on and through the rocks daily. It is a 10 minute(ish) walk to Watson Lake and a 5 minute drive to a parking area for Wilson Lake. The recreation area parking for Wilson Lake is probably 15 minutes away. Both areas are amazing and full of so much outdoor recreation. We hiked, kayaked Watson Lake, hunted for wildflowers, found lizards and ducks, played in the field at Watson Lake, and enjoyed our mostly shaded campground sites.
The campground has showers and bathrooms. We used the showers a couple times and there is plenty of hot water and they are well cleaned. The sites are roomy and with the exception of one weekender family that rolled in for Easter, the place was quiet and everyone was respectful. The people working there were friendly and worked with us as we adjusted our schedule to meet our needs.
The campground is also near(ish) to many restaurants and grocery stores. Downtown is 10-15 minutes away. There are also many other outdoor recreation areas in the general vicinity of Prescott, but due to Covid19, we did not check out anything other than what was right nearby. The whole area is gorgeous. The Dells are fantastic and beautiful. There weather was perfect in March.

This campground is surrounded by granite rock formations which makes it interesting. The wifi was good. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The sites had trees and shade.
The roads and the sites are not paved nor do they have fresh gravel, which made them dusty. Route 89 is pretty close and provided traffic noise early in the morning and late in the evening. There is a firing range not too far away, and one evening it was very active until almost 9 pm. Wood fires are not allowed if you like sitting around the camp fire at night.
On the whole it is an ok campground. It seems well-managed within the limitations of the location.

We came here after a busy couple of weeks in Phoenix and wanted to relax and get on with work in a quiet environment. Point of Rocks certain provided that.
Every morning we walked out of the back gate right near our site and walked up the path, often climbing over the rocks. The rocks are super grippy so it feels like you could almost walk vertically. The dogs loved the adventure.
Located next to the park is a lake, which you can easily walk to on the front side of the campground. We walked over there and it's beautiful. There are paths around most of the lake which is fun to walk, definitely need to be able-bodied. We even managed to find a pathway from the lake back up the rocks to the back end of the campground, which was fun to explore.
Location #57 was easy to back into and had plenty of space for our 45'. The car parked at the side of the RV. We backed up to rocks, which was very pretty and private. If you are in a van or <30' RV you can get in even closer to the rocks.
Cell data service was variable. Sometimes we had 10mbps, sometimes 1mbps. I guess it was the lay of the land and the rocks. I suspect different sites will have different performance. The saving grace was the WiFi was actually pretty good! It is across microwave links from the office so it could get impacted by wind or a bird flying by or something, but it was very workable and we did some conference calls and video calls over it. Just a note on T-Mobile, if you have a newer phone that supports the long distance band (600MHz) it is noticeably better.
Highly recommended for a quiet location near to civilization.

We stayed 4 nights the second week of October. We really enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint was that there were no wood fires allowed, but that is understandable due to the dry environment.

This campground is built into the rocks on north side of Prescott. Close 7 miles to the famous and historic downtown. Campground is all gravel roads and pads. It did get dusty at times. The sites are almost on top of each other and no room for parking tow vehicle. There are trees that provide shade and there is a constant breeze which is nice on warm days. Trails around the area to hike. Better signage is needed for trails determining waypoints, and distances. Lastly, they need better signage on Rt 89 for campground. We may try again in future.

RV Park Review – Point of Rocks RV Campground, Prescott, AZ

Arrival = 5/5. We stayed two nights and paid $43 per night for full hookups. Previous reviews indicated this was a very popular location but a couple of sites were open when we called the morning of our arrival and we were assigned site 96, a pull-through. We arrived a couple of hours after the office closed at 5pm, but the staff had provided a personalized map with welcome information pinned to a bulletin board. This allowed us to find our site and set up without problems. The next morning I completed check-in at the office with the friendly staff.
Site quality = 4/5. Point of Rocks has lower and upper loops with gravel roads and pads. All sites are closely tucked together among trees and the many of the upper loop sites are between the large granite rocks that comprise this Granite Dells area. Most sites are back-in with many only suited for more petite trailers or coaches. The park’s 94 sites were completely full upon our arrival and 90% full for our second night. Site #96 fit our 33-foot coach with plenty of extra room on entrance side for our awning, chairs and propane grill. Almost all pads had a very manageable mild slope but that appeared inevitable due to building the campground on granite! Hook-ups were 50/30/20 amp electric, water and sewer. Each site also had a picnic table but no fire rings or wood fires were allowed.
Facilities = 4/5. Each loop had a shower/bathroom facility that was functional but not otherwise noteworthy. Trash bins were conveniently located and collected by the staff each morning. Recycling was not available. 4G AT&T and Verizon cell service was four-to-five bars. Numerous WiFi antenna provided complete coverage which allowed email and document upload and rarely ran slowly even though the park was near capacity. Our TV antenna booster pulled in 12 stations including three of four major networks.
Area = 5/5. We chose this campground for it’s proximity to the Granite Dells plus the town of Prescott and were not disappointed. A hiking trail from the campground gave us quick access to Watson Lake and we hiked along the shoreline enjoying the views. We later took a ride share (Uber, Lyft and Taxi service readily available) into Prescott’s historic downtown and enjoyed checking out several brewpubs, bars and local shops. Granite Mountain Brewing had a selection of IPAs and nice English Brown Ale. Cortez Street Emporium is packed full of knick-knacks but also sells T-shirts for charity that honor the 19 hotshot firefighters lost fighting the Granite Mountain Yarnell fire in 2013. Prescott has plenty of fuel, grocery stores, restaurants, and RV supply places within a few miles of the campground.
Overall rating = 4.5
Summary: A very nice stopover in a beautiful setting.

Staff was very friendly. We arrived early and they did not give us a hassle about checking in about an hour before their standard check in time.
Loved our site - it was roomy and private relative to some of their other sites. I love the trees and rocks around the campground. It is a no frills place to stay - but that’s what I like about it.
There is an easy path to Watson Lake - which is absolutely gorgeous. There is a 4.7m loop around the lake which is a fun, easy rock scramble path. Lots of trails to run, walk or hike on.
Convenient location to downtown - but you are far enough from the city that you feel like you are remote camping.
Wifi at campground was good enough to do emails - it would slow down at times, but for the most part we were able to use it for just about everything we needed to do.
The entrance to the campground sneaks up on you when you are going south on 89 - so slow down when your GPS tells you are getting close. Good thing is there is a traffic circle just past the entrance, so if you miss the entrance you can go around the traffic circle and come back to the entrance very easily.

Want people to stay at your park? How about don't act like total jerks in every way on your website before I even get to know why i might want to stay there.
You couldn't pay me to support this kind of obnoxious attitude from rv park management.
I hope you come to your senses before the people who work for you end up jobless.
