Called late in the day got very nice person on phone and made a reservation for that evening arriving after hours. Camp host met us and escorted us to site, very polite and helpful. Called late in the day got very nice person on phone and made a reservation for that evening arriving after hours. Camp host met us and escorted us to site, very polite and helpful. Nice pull through, this is a city park with lots of permanent residents, but plenty of space. Staff were uniformly polite and friendly. The next morning I pulled up to the LP fill station right at 8 am start of office hours, and before I could walk into the office the person had left to find someone to fill me up. Great service! The only con is that it is located on a point in a bend of the Tennessee river, so getting there takes a lot of twists and turns on city streets, all plenty wide enough for our 38 foot Navigator with tow vehicle, but might intimidate some drivers.

As far as the park goes, it was ok. It was laid out nicely, easy to get into spots and drive. The people there were nice enough but it felt more like a trailer park than an RV park. It rained pretty well while we were here and there wasn't a bad deal with flooding (Fall). The water cleared pretty well the next day after rain. It looks like most of the sites have a rock base layer for draining.
They are raising prices in January.

The best thing about the place was that there weren’t a lot of people, that being said almost all the campsites were taken with trailers that seemed permanent and no one seemed to be there the whole 2 days we were there over the weekend. The best thing about the place was that there weren’t a lot of people, that being said almost all the campsites were taken with trailers that seemed permanent and no one seemed to be there the whole 2 days we were there over the weekend. We were on a main road into a loop of the campground and it seemed like a lot of trucks and golf carts came by even through the night. It seemed very cliqueish when you did see people, not a friendly vibe. We needed electricity for air conditioning on our trip and they required a two day stay otherwise we would have only stayed one day if we could find somewhere else to go.

We booked a month here in January, 2020. When we arrived they had several sites that they said would fit our giant rig. We booked a month here in January, 2020. When we arrived they had several sites that they said would fit our giant rig. We drove around and took a look and found a perfect site on a nice large corner lot that had evidently just opened up (as it wasn't one they'd originally suggested). It was close to the office and we hoped far enough from the creek. We'd been told coming in that sections B and C tend to flood sometimes. 115 is at the very front of C.
Overall, the campground is very nice. Sites are level enough, hookups are easy to get to. The office/store is well-stocked and the staff friendly. Laundry appeared clean (although we did not use it).
Most of the campground is nice and wooded/shaded, but the section on the far-side of A, with the pull-through sites and beyond is wide open, if you prefer that.
The park is MOSTLY long-term. Section A is the most desirable section and long-term people will watch those spots like a hawk to move into them as soon as they become available. The sites there are a little nice and it's mostly beyond the flood area (although not completely). You'll see a lot of folks who have set up permanent type sheds and structures, especially in A.
It's really conveniently located to everything in Decatur. You're not more than 15 minutes from anything, and about 5 minutes from the nearest Walmart neighborhood store.
The park staff picks up trash from your site twice a day. This is a nice little perk that you wouldn't expect at a park like this. They keep the campground very clean.
During the summer months the place fills up fast with locals, and it's first-come, first-serve (no reservations). From around the first of October through March, however, it's fairly easy to get in and find a spot.
When you arrive plan to drive around the park and check out the open spots to find where you'd prefer to be before checking in. We checked in and thankfully had an extra car with us to make driving through the campground easier.
Sites vary a LOT in size and shape. There is something to fit every camper, whether or not it's available is another story.
The thing that surprised us most was how quiet this park was. Because it is largely full-time stationary families and because we were positioned so close to the office and the entrance, we expected that car noise would be a problem. However, noise was not an issue at all, and the park was overall extremely quiet.
We had originally hoped to stay there a couple of months while we prepped our house for sale. Unfortunately, 20 days into our initial month we got a call that we had to come move our camper because the park was flooding. When we arrived everything behind our site was already completely underwater. We were one of about 3 campers remaining in section C (and B was mostly empty as well for the same reason). There was about 4" of water at the lowest point in front of our camper and closer to a foot at the deepest point back where our sewer and water connected. We ended up tossing our water hoses as we didn't know what was in the water they'd been sitting in (water coming off the TN river).
Within the next few days even section A had flooded and been evacuated. Our section of the park was closed for about 10 days. We later found out that this is at least the second year in a row that the park has flooded like this. So beware staying in the rainy season.
