Typical State Forest Campground. Many sites are Under The Canopy of trees, a few are open to the sky if you need solar. Most sites are nicely separated, but 19 and 20 are close if you want two sites together.

We camped here while visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes Natl Lakeshore. About 25 minutes to the park. Campsites are nice. Best for tents but some RVs were there. Pit toilets and water pump. Self registration. Have to pay recreational permit (basically a state park pass) $9 a day besides camping fee. Very quiet and peaceful at night. No bugs. Lots of downed trees for firewood.
First come first served. We came on a Thursday afternoon and there were plenty of spots left. Mostly fishermen and some families.

Close to town. Platte river is great for kayaking, fly fishing, or just sitting in on hot days.
