The real advantage to this location is that it’s right next to Pine Mountain Observatory. Just like this campground it’s free. The telescopes are hosted by the University of Oregon and are usually open only on the weekends in the summer. “Great remote spot that's real hybrid between dispersed and established camping”

We took an RV up here pulling a trailer of motorcycles. It's a great place for launching day rides. There's not too much else to do on top of this butte/mountain other than just admire the amazing view.
