We overnighted here on our way to Carlsbad Caverns. Although you get quite a bit of traffic noise due to being right off the highway, it wasn't enough to keep us away. We were the only ones who stayed overnight here and they had a good 6 spots you could choose from. They have large trash cans at every sight and grill stands and a cover... more
We overnighted here on our way to Carlsbad Caverns. Although you get quite a bit of traffic noise due to being right off the highway, it wasn't enough to keep us away. We were the only ones who stayed overnight here and they had a good 6 spots you could choose from. They have large trash cans at every sight and grill stands and a covered picnic area. There were several people who pulled off into the area at night but no one who stayed longer than an hour. We felt relatively safe for being not far off the road and enjoyed a nice sunrise out our front door in the morning. Only complaint would be the broken glass on the grounds but for free, we can deal with that.
