“ Noisy overnight stop”

I arrived about 3 PM and there were two other RVs already there. I had trouble finding a site without an enormous amount of broken glass around it. As other reviewers have described it is potentially a great overnight spot and free. The noise from the traffic was a dealbreaker for me. I will not stay again due to the noise.

I have Star Link but with my T-Mobile phone and a T-Mobile hot spot I have 41 Mbps down and 8 Mbps up. So no need to hook up my Star Link. Very nice and peaceful. I will stay again if in the area.

Pretty quiet, picnic tables, garbage cans, and barbeques. A little bit of garbage scattered but it wasn't bad at all. I'd definitely stay again.

We arrived at 6. There were 2 other cars here just for a little while. Then it was just us.
The directions getting here were a tad off, but we figured it out. There is construction in front of the 2 entrances which makes u think it is closed but people were coming in so we stayed.

This was good for a quick overnight stop. Had some garbage. We parked all the way in the back corner. Some vehicles came into the park and stayed for a short time and left. No one ever got out. There is some truck and train noise but didn’t bother us. We were there in a van

Place is a bit run down but fine for one night. Trash scattered around and lots of road noise. Convenient to stop overnight while traveling to Dallas. Looks like it used to be an rv park there are cemented in sewage drains and water spigots that don’t work. Now it’s just an area with picnic tables and spaces to park and sleep.

Just wanted to update. Drove all the way here to stay but because of the road construction, you can’t pull into the park. Just wanted to update so no one gets bummed out like we did.

This was a fine spot to stop when we were traveling through West Texas on the way to Big Bend. We pulled in late. There are 3 covered picnic tables with open pull through spots on each side of a small field, both sides are exactly the same. There is a big open parking area in the front. The picnic sites don’t seem to be particularly maintained, weeds had grown pretty tall. There was broken glass everywhere. Sites were quite flat which made it easy, we just pulled in and were done. There were closed trash cans at each site which was convenient. It’s right next to a main road with huge trucks passing through all night so there is a good amount of road noise. It’s not a place to stay and hang out but beats a Walmart parking lot

This spot was roughly 2.5 acres of grass and a dirt circular drive with 6 picnic spots total.
The park ends mirrored each other with 3 sites each. The sites had a covered picnic table and bench, large trash can and BBQ charcoal grill.
It was fairly easy to maneuver through the park as the road is circular and each designated area had its own slot. No need to back in here. Each area could only accommodate a 40' rig and truck and that was pushing it.
Now it is right off a heavily trafficked highway, frequented by large trucks throughout the night. So much so that it was a constant drone.
It seems it is used by local police to wait for dispatch calls and to catch speeders. We were happy as it added some safety to the location.
Pets or children could play in the center grassy area which is an added bonus. There was quite a bit of litter which was disappointing but the camping was free.
If we needed an overnight stop in Pecos we would stop here but we wouldn't make a special trip.
T-Mobile 3-4 bars with decent upload/download speed but no streaming as there was too much buffering.
