This was indeed a “peaceful valley”! Very quiet and relaxing spot. Our campsite was next to the creek, which made for a perfect location. A temporary issue on our specific campsite #1 is that the fire ring was being replaced and wasn’t usable. No big deal for us but might be for others. My guess is it’s up and working already. I’d highly recommend this beautiful spot and hike along the creek.

Nice campsite. Busy and fills up quickly. Lots of OHVs during the day and on surrounding trails but quiet at night. Good Verizon LTE service. Camp Dick just down the road has spotty Verizon coverage depending where you are at in the campground.

There are is an off road vehicle trail in between Peaceful Valley and Camp Dick and another one at the far end of Camp Dick, walking along the single lane paved road that connects the two camps can be a little dangerous with personal off-road vehicles and jeeps not paying attention to the speed limit. Nederland is 30 minutes if any supplies are needed, there is a fully stocked Ace Hardware in town. The Millsite Inn is a nice local place along Hwy 72 ,about 10 minutes towards Nederland, with really good pizza.

Although, during peak season it can be crowded, choose sites at the extremity will help. Not all sites can be reserved, a half dozen or so are "walk in" only an you must have your whole rig with you before they will allow you to make the purchase. The camp hosts in previous years are stellar, keeping the place clean and kept.
