Overview of Patoka Lake Campground

For cars, trucks and campers, the entrance fee is $7 per vehicle for in-state plates and $9 per vehicle for out-of-state plates, seven days a week including holidays. For pedestrians, bicycles, buses and passenger vans, the entrance fee is $2 per person. When staying overnight, you will be required to pay the entrance fee the first time you enter and your receipt will serve as your in/out pass the remainder of your stay. In-state annual entrance permits (AEPs) are $50. Out-of-state annual entrance permits are $70. Golden Hoosier permits are $25.

This place has a lot to do. From paved bike trails, hiking, a nice big beach for swimming. If you fish or boat, there is plenty of room. The website (reserve America) has great details on the lots, there are no real pull through lots “or at least none we seen “ but read the site details and you will find the perfect spot. Check in wasn’t easy. Filling up with water was easy with the dedicated water filling stations (or just duck into a vacant site). Water was located within a reasonable distance to site. Stayed two nights in the Fisherman’s Campground, which is ideal for smaller rigs that don’t need hookups or shower facilities. There’s an even larger Modern Campground if you need the extras. Fisherman’s is $12.84/night, not including the nine bucks you pay for park entry. Potable water is plentiful, staff is very friendly and helpful.... more
