Small roadside campground with 13 sites. Only a few sites can accommodate rigs over 30 feet. Not really suitable for a larger Class A. We found Site 12 to be long enough for our 30’ AS. TT. Small roadside campground with 13 sites. Only a few sites can accommodate rigs over 30 feet. Not really suitable for a larger Class A. We found Site 12 to be long enough for our 30’ AS. TT. This site was perfectly situated along the bank of the South Fork River with the steady flow of water- a mere 20 feet from our rig. Beautiful wooded views and the river right outside of our windows. Warm days and cool evenings with temps dropping to the mid-40s at this 8,500 foot elevation. Primitive sites the campground does have vault toilets, trash dumpster and one fresh water source at the entrance. Within the camp, the loop at the end to turn around is tight with heavy growth of vegetation. Seemed most campers were using this location as an overnight stop at the eastern base of Wolf Creek pass. Vault toilets were very clean. We spent three nights here. Besides the small back-in length of most sites, the only real downside of this campground is its proximity to Hwy 160. Highway noise is constant during the daytime. At night traffic dies down with very little noise to disrupt sleep. $10/night with senior access pass. $20/night without.

There aren't many sites in this hidden gem just off the highway but they are beautiful! Ours was right on the Creek which was swelled with snow melt in early June! Bear boxes, new fire rings but very few other amenities. We would love to stay here again but for longer.

Park Creek is a beautiful campground located in the Rio Grande National Forest. The sites are nice with many beautiful trees and most sites sit directly on the creek. Each site seems private because of the big trees. Plenty places to hang your hammock. The manager is friendly and helpful and even has firewood for sale. The campground has very clean toilets but no showers or electric hookups. It is located right off the highway, but I did not find the traffic noise to be too bothersome. You mostly hear it during the day, but barely over the delightful sound of the babbling creek. Our visit was June 7th. Located conveniently close to town where you can get fuel, firewood, food and cell phone service.
