Papalaua Wayside Beach Park is closed for maintenance Tuesday and Wednesday of each week. A camping permit is required. Permits are given on a first come, first served basis. Campers are allowed to stay 4 consecutive days maximum.

Overall Rating
Currently only one opened state camp ground on Maui 04/22. They charge 10$ per person week days / 20$ per person weekend days, which is quite a lot for a state park on Hawaii.
There were no showers at all. Only WC which were suprisingly quite clean. The camp is very noisy, the camp is next to the highway where is hight trafic till late night.
If you arrive after dark, make sure to clean up under your tent as there are tree branches with thorns laying all around and can damage your tent.
Overall if there were more camps on Maui too choose from, I would skip this one as it was the worst from all camps we used during our stays on all islands.
