Great views of the canyon in the evening. Mostly 30-amp sites so if you have a 50-amp rig with an adapter be careful, there are no breakers at your site and you will take the whole row down if you draw over 30 amps. Our stay was fine, not good, not bad, just fine.

Super narrow spaces.0
Owner started mowing weeds at our site at 9:05 PM.
Bizarre setup; electric, sewer and water are on opposites sides; used 3 water hoses and two long sewer hoses. Luckily, I have extension on electric cord, cause it was far away too.
Best part of the RV park is leaving it in my rear view mirror.
Do not recommend.

The sites were extremely unlevel. It took quite a while for us to get close to level and we have auto-level.
Next, the vast majority of the sites are 30 amp sites. I entered 50 when we booked but ended up with 30.
Lastly, all the sites are dirt pads which become extremely muddy when it rains, so beware. And there are no trees for shade.
But again, it is extremely close to the state park and inexpensive.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was non-existent. I left two voicemails and they weren’t returned. Outside of that, the stay was great. The water and electric were reliable and the site was very level. The WiFi was consistently 11 megs down and 3 megs up.

This campground is basically a bare bones RV site. It looks like they are trying to do so much with the place, but are kind of all over the place so not one particular aspect is as good as it good be. It's pretty dull as far as campgrounds go, but the location can't be beat if you can't stay in the park. The RV sites are fairly flat. We picked #3 based on their webpage, which said it had one of the best views of the canyon. Which may have been true before they built the mini cabins. Highly recommend staying in the outer loop sites, and avoid the ones on the "inside" unless it's at the farthest end from the entrance. The water and electrical/sewer hook ups were on opposite ends of the site, so unless we used our additional hose, we wouldn't have been able to hook everything up at the same time.
Never went in the showers, but there are two bathrooms - both were fine when we first got there, but it was a holiday weekend so we didn't use them after the first day. Not sure how much cleaning was going on so can't comment on cleanliness after the first day.
You can see the Palo Duro SP entrance from this RV campground. Because we were hooked up and didn't want to unhook, we rode our mountain bikes into/out of the canyon for the two full days we were there. It's definitely do able if you are in decent shape. We also biked several of the trails in the canyon, which were spectacular. I'm not an avid mountain biker but I've done some fairly technical single track trails, but Lower Comanche was at the extreme end of my limits. Upper Comanche, however, was super fun and although technical, not as difficult as LC.
There is wifi at the campground and we didn't have any issues with it. They do sell ice for $2/bag. We didn't come into contact with the owners other than by phone. The office wasn't open and all we had to do was call and let them know which site we were on, so check in was super easy. I'm sure they would have been responsive if we had any issues, but we didn't need to contact them other than check in.

There was trash left by a camper and it stayed out until animals picked the bag apart and scattered the garbage. And finally, upon departure we found the sewer at our campsite was full. We could not dump and had to move to another site to dump. At one site we could see where someone had dumped right on the ground. This is unacceptable. Would never stay here again.

It was fine for a quick overnight but it is not a destination. Stay at the state park if you can - the sites are very comfortable and lovely. But if you need a place in a pinch, it's an ok spot to pitch a tent for a night. Just watch for broken glass on the grounds. Clean-ish restrooms and okay showers.

When we asked that it be cleaned up, we were told they would right away...but no one ever showed up. The place is run down. They also have a zip line business. I’d never consider using a zip line at a place so ill kept.
