These were nice paved sites, extremely level! The map is deceiving as Wakara campground is not by the water. It is up on a bluff, with a road and other campground between sites and water. Sites are very large, although the pull through s looked a little narrow for clearing all obstacles. The double sites had a wierd hookup location behind the concrete tire stops for one of the rigs. Our friends actually backed their 5 th wheel over the stops to reach hookups. Good access to 6 mile canyon, but it’s a good 30 minutes to get up to more roads for OHV from campground. Close to an hour to Skyline.

We were originally booked into a dry camp site ($25 a night), but the nights had turned chilly, and we were able to change our site to FHU ($35) plus an $8 online booking fee. The is a pretty CG with varied but generally good spacing between sites. Site 18 was relatively private, level (as most were), and easy to get a big rig in and out (also true for many sites). $25 for dry and $35 for FHU at a SP is expensive in my view, but I have few complaints otherwise. Each site had a slightly different lay-out for utilities, and unfortunately for us, the septic was far forward in site 18 and less than ideal for our back sewer pipe. This park also offers bathrooms, showers, trash service, and an easy to access dump station.
Yes, as another reviewer mentioned there are OHVs (unusually, there is also a golf course), and yes, our CG was full over the weekend. However, it wasn't any crazier here than any other UT SP we've been too, and we weren't bothered ever. The park was easy to get to and not too far from some small town amenities, restaurants, Walmart, Tractor Supply, etc.
There are 4 campground here: Arapein Campground (dry camping, close to the lake, some trees), Pioneer Campground (dry camping, close to the lake, some trees) Sanpitch Campground (both dry and FHU, and a bit more crowded), and Wakara Campground (FHU, on a plateau above Pioneer, and where we stayed). Verizon worked great here, no booster needed.

This is an addendum to my previous review. When we were leaving the park, I needed to make one last run to the restroom, which I found locked; both men’s and women’s. So at that time (12:30 pm) there were NO open restrooms in this park. Incidentally, the showers are closed daily from 10am-5pm (I think). And I forgot to mention previously that $25 gets you dry camping only; none of the sites with hookups were available.

First night was very quiet but there was a party going on the second night; it quieted down sometime after 10:00. Lots of whooping and “howling” with loud music. Generator hours run too late and ATV rules were not enforced. Lots of small dog poop in the big grass area. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay.

We were there on a Thursday and it was a packed, sold out campground. Considering this, the campground was pretty quiet during those designated hours so no complaints there.
They rent kayaks, paddle boards, pedal boats, all sorts of water fun. I'd try it again with a better site and partake in the water fun!

We landed here because there wasn't much else in the area and the BLMs were located in high elevation. We paid $20 for no service, but had a site on the water which was beautiful. Unfortunately, we were here during the Easter Weekend and it was very busy, mostly 4-wheeler crowd. There was a party on the Friday night, people running their generators all day (while they were gone) and till 10 at night (allowed till that time). There are push-button lukewarm showers and a dump on the site. The lake is beautiful and was home to trumpeter swans while we were there (loud at night but beautiful!). You have to have your own fire rink or rent one (10$ per day or 13 $ with wood) if you want to have a bonfire.
Nice flat concrete pads and platforms for tents on the side of the lake. Might be much quieter during the week.
