“No Views, Too Many RVs Crammed In To What Felt Like A Parking Lot”

This park is overpriced for the amenities provided. The sites are narrow, and what they consider a "premium" site is difficult to get into and just as narrow. This park is overpriced for the amenities provided. The sites are narrow, and what they consider a "premium" site is difficult to get into and just as narrow. The stream shown on the map is misleading. They initially tried to place us in spot 66, which was nowhere near the stream as advertised. We ended up in spot 133, which wasn’t too bad. Overall, the park felt more like a crowded parking lot, with 30-foot 5th wheels packed tightly together.
Additionally, it seems like there are quite a few full-timers in the park. The entrance was lined with old, dirty 5th wheels that had permanent living setups, which gave the area a bit of a rundown feel.

Upon arrival the office person handed us our check in info and said follow me to your site. No welcome, nothing about amenities , nothing. Upon arrival the office person handed us our check in info and said follow me to your site. No welcome, nothing about amenities , nothing. She directed us to our site which was jammed between a rental cabin a 5th wheel that looked to be a permanent resident. It’s an rv park - sites are tight I get it. This part of the park is terraced though so there is a 45 degree slope on both sides of the trailer. Very difficult to even put our stairs out to get in our door. So we couldn’t be outside under the awning. We thought we’d try the back park the site…nope the neighbor’s rig is right there and the site is massively not levell. And the front of the site sits right across from the dumpster. Which was OPEN all day and night despite warnings everywhere about bears. The other side was a steep terrace with the hookups including sewer so not a great place to hang. We finally positioned our tow vehicle to block our view of the dumpster and set up some lawn chairs near the front of our trailer to be able to be outside sometimes.
There were other level sites available and not “members only” sites so we thought maybe we’d see about moving. Our plan was to travel to Yosemite from Bass Lake for two days of the trip which we did so were just at the park for dinner and sleeping so we did move. The park is quiet at night during the week. However Thursday night the members start rolling in letting their kids race around on golf carts playing loud raunchy music and acting foolish. I don’t begrudge members their good time but it makes an uncomfortable atmosphere for guests. I just would want to know that coming in paying over $100 a night for a rental spot. I would consider every person who rented as a potential member and treat the accordingly but that’s me. We love the proximity to yosemite but won’t stay here again.

Kids racing around in gas powered, noisy, stinky golf carts all day. Mold filled and rotten RV's parked year round for retired people's summer homes. $35 park charging $80 just because its 3 blocks from lake. Cable TV is total garbage, when I asked mgmt to look at it, I was told to go find the repairman in the park. Stay away from this... more

Mold filled and rotten RV's parked year round for retired people's summer homes. $35 park charging $80 just because its 3 blocks from lake. Cable TV is total garbage, when I asked mgmt to look at it, I was told to go find the repairman in the park. Stay away from this place. Sites not level, no lawn. One-way narrow streets with speed bumps. Difficult parking.

We stayed two nights in mid January and it was very quiet. Had our pick of sites when we arrived and paid the winter/Good Sam rate. It was dark, so we chose a pretty easy one to get into. We stayed two nights in mid January and it was very quiet. Had our pick of sites when we arrived and paid the winter/Good Sam rate. It was dark, so we chose a pretty easy one to get into. It was near the road that goes around the lake, but noise wasn't an issue since the area is pretty dead this time of year. Not sure if that would be the same in the summer when its much busier. The sites are pretty close together, but we didn't have anyone around us due to the season. There is a section that is reserved for members only. Our site was level and had water/sewer/electric. I think they have cable too, but we don't use it and the wifi didn't work from our site. We didn't check out the bathrooms since we have our own facilities.
The campground is dog friendly and they had a few spots with poop bags and garbage cans and the office staff said they are planning to build a new dog run area soon. They have a pool, shuffle board, game room, and campfire area. There is also a short trail that leads down to the lake right in the campground.
The Pines Resort is very close, which has a couple restaurants, a bar, a market that seemed to have anything you could ever need, and a gas station. Oakhurst is also just a few minutes away with full supermarkets, restaurants, and anything else you need. We stopped at South Gate Brewing for lunch and had excellent beer and food. Yosemite is also very close - I believe only 13 miles or so to the south gate.
My only negative comment was the little flies were nearly unbearable in the middle of the day when it was warm. Not sure if that's an all the time thing there or not, but they were SO annoying!

We had a very nice stay at this full hook up campground. This is a very large dog friendly campground with both RV sites and a few tent sites. We had a very nice stay at this full hook up campground. This is a very large dog friendly campground with both RV sites and a few tent sites. Some of their spaces are reserved for members only and those are mostly located “downtown” near the pool/snack shop. Our site was in a more wooded area near the walking route to Pines Village and the Marina. It took us about 5 mins to walk down to the Pines hotel where there are several lake view restaurants a small grocery store and places to rent a boat. At the campground they have a snack shop, pool, game room, playground and outdoor shuffle board games. We had a very nice quiet weekend here in September. The office staff was very friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back! My only complaint is they advertise that they have WiFi, but we were only able to get WiFi if we were standing near the front office and our phones (AT&T) were in and out of service throughout our stay.

We stayed in one of the 40ft plus sites that were in the parameter. I’m not sure I’d be happy in the center pullthrough sites that feel a little more cramped. All and all this is a nice base camp for a large rig that can’t get into Yosemite. Cell coverage is a challenge. Voice seems to be good for Verizon and T-Mobile. No dropped calls... more
We stayed in one of the 40ft plus sites that were in the parameter. I’m not sure I’d be happy in the center pullthrough sites that feel a little more cramped. All and all this is a nice base camp for a large rig that can’t get into Yosemite. Cell coverage is a challenge. Voice seems to be good for Verizon and T-Mobile. No dropped calls! Dats is another issue. ATT, T-Mobile, and Verizon all bounced around the 1mbs up/down range. Initially my cell booster didn’t help either but after moving the internal antenna I was able to get T-Mobile 12mb/s down and 1 mb/s up which was tolerable. The cell booster did not help my att hotspot at all. The parks WiFi is no better then unboosted cell coverage and they warn you will be cut off if you abuse the connection.
The park also has a pool which was closed in April when we visited. There is a very small store in the park but if you head over to the marina 1/4 mile as the crow flies or 1/2 drive, there is a post office, a few restaurants, and a grosery store.
Would stay here again but I would likely try another new to me place.
