If you can't back up (we are class a with dolly/towed), if you go to the water only section, you will need to disconnect and back up to turn around. The loop through primitive isn't built for large, long vehicles. We managed to get a pond access site after our first night. Other folks had their boats at their sites. Easy dump on the way out. I'm sure we will be back.

In December of 2022, we stayed two weeks. Our stay in 2021 was very nice, so we decided to come again. As of now, it is still first come-first serve and fortunately we were once again able to get a site in the water/electric loop. There is also a water only as well as a primitive loop. There are water sites although they could be more wet if there has been much rain. The park is quiet with very roomy sites. Again this year, we had the same great hosts Don and Shirley. The sunsets are amazing!
Lake City is about a half hour drive and meets any shopping need. We toured the near by civil war site, Olustee Battle Field. There are sections of the Florida Trail from the park. Although there is not a designated bike trail or wide shoulders, the traffic is light enough to allow enjoyable biking.
While the bathrooms and separate shower areas are very clean, the showers are not acceptable. Last year, the showers were all working and hot. This year, one shower area within the water only loop is closed because the shower doors were removed and the replacement doors are yet to be attached. The old doors are just heaved on the ground. The fixtures in the three working showers in the electric loop are all problematic. The dial on some won’t turn far enough into the warm zone, another is backwards and you need to know the trick to generate hot water.
The more tired looking feel of the campground is a total reflection on the national park service and not daily routine maintenance.

Unfortunately, the CG isn't built for much over 40'. I'd go so far as to cap it at 38'. Most sites aren't deep enough, and the loop roads are rather narrow, thus limiting maneuvering space for backing.
Site #9 is the exception, as it's on a turn, and is almost a straight shot to back into. Still, at 43', our real wheels were at the end of the pad, and garage door in the brush.
Also, beware your GPS. It'll send you down a dead end dirt road with no turn around.

Great NF Campground... Very quite and serene. Price was with NP pass for 50 amp and water site. We were apprehensive about FCFS but was no issue. Seems that there are 3 or 4 departures each day. if you arrive early, you should have no problem.

All are first come, first served, so we’d recommend arriving early to grab a level spot. The ones right on the lake looked very soggy the morning after a rain but further inland was fine.
Hot showers, laundry and beautiful sunsets can’t be beat!
We use a TMobile WiFi hotspot for internet and had no issues there.
We were sorry to leave!

Really quiet stay right on ocean pond and half price with national parks pass!
Currently they’re operating at half capacity. We arrived on Friday night and they were completely full so stayed at hogs pen (also a great place). A week later we came on a Tuesday morning and there were 2 spots open and more opened up later in the day.
They have three different types of spots (full hookup, water only and primitive).
The hookup and water are both paved and have fire rings and picnic tables. More open for solar too.
The primitive spots are much more shaded and smaller. We probably could have fit in a couple spots in our 30 foot class A but overall smaller rigs would probably be better for that area.
Dumps station is conveniently where you enter/exit, on small washing machine and dryer outside near the bathroom (accepts cards) and four showers with their own doors (a little dark and creepy but probably ok). Little beach area for swimming and also a place to put in kayaks.
Also full bars of Verizon and T mobile, we easily worked our full time remote jobs without our booster.

Noisiest creatures around are some squirrels in the trees dropping empty shells on me and some friendly wasp looking bugs. Place is well kept and relatively quite. People are neighborly and park is well maintained. Kudos to the Forest Service and camp hosts. $6.00 dollars a day with Access Pass.

Couldn’t get far enough to pick a spot. While driving through Ocean Pond campground to see if our rig (left at home 1 hour away) could fit in any of the sites that are open of their 50% capacity. We were told (actually yelling at) by a man on a golf cart saying if we don’t have camping gear we must leave immediately. We were literally driving through for 3 mins to write down spots we could fit in for future plans. We will not come back. Not sure if he was a campground host or a campground worker. Either way this does not seem like a friendly place welcoming campers back to have some relaxation.

Don’t waste you time driving here. As of 1/2/21 the campsite is closed off. There is a dump station that you can access for $5 but the drive is long and not worth it to me.
