This was our first time to Yuba. Electric and water hookups, flushing bathrooms and even showers! Lake was next to campgrounds, so we just walked down the hill for fishing. The reservoir was only 25% at capacity, and we all had no luck fishing, but it was nice just to sit on the bank. The camps were landscaped beautifully for a desert-type area. Not tons of privacy because of the lack of trees in a desert, but it did not bother us. It was thoroughly enjoyable for a low-key relaxed weekend. Only con was there were weird bugs in some of the bathrooms/showers. Yuck. But I learned which stalls to avoid and the rest of the time was fine. Our site was perfect for kids to play and ride their bikes, but would next time pick one on the side of the lake, maybe site 6.

Stayed here on an overnight between Zion & Yellowstone. Showed up around 1:00 on. Sunday, many spots available. Electric only, but I planned ahead and added water before leaving Zion. Lake was low, but the view was still spectacular.

Many folks working here and it it clean and cared for. electrical and water hook ups with plenty of space between sites. Bathrooms and hot showers! They do get a little trashed up throughout day but there was a big group at a group site and day users using too. Small store with ice cream. Lake is cool with buoys to create a safe from boats swim zone.
Only negatives: loud music from group, no recycling.

The place was clean and easy to get in and out of. Certain amenities were still closed for Covid such as the public restrooms, store, etc...however there was a couple of vault toilet locations that were still open.
I was staying in site 2 and be warned, that not all sites have water even though the website and your confirmation email say “Standard Site”. For example, site 1 and site 2 have identical information on the website and both are the same price except site 1 has a water spicket and site 2 does not. Fortunately there is a dump station adjacent to the entrance of the camp that has potable water available. Although I ended up just filling up a water jug I had at a nearby site that wasn’t occcupied.
That was the only problem I had with this place but it was inconvenient and surprising enough to give it three stars. They need to either update their website or list somewhere what sites have what amenities specifically.

I had such high hopes for this State Park; but alas, this stay was a disappointment. First: Verify your map program takes you to I-15 Exit 202, Yuba State Park, if you attempt to take Exit 207 (thanks Garmin), you will have to drive over a rough gravel road. Second: we disconnected our tow truck for easier entrance into the park (several 90º turns at the entrance) and were charged an extra $15/day for the truck, after speaking with the park supervisor the next day, he refunded the 2 day total of $30 (thanks!). Third: Sites are not well marked. Fourth: Our site was not level, high in the rear, so our front jacks were fully extended. Fifth: Although the website does not mention available water, there are spigots at a few sites (not ours). Sixth: Electricity was terrible. Our surge protector registered Reversed Polarity at the pole. The incoming voltage varied greatly throughout the 2 day stay; it varied from 119 down to 108 incoming voltage. Little things: lots of big black flies. The shade tree on our site is dead and gives Zero shade. Pack your provisions before coming here - no food or gas for 30+ miles away.
Now for the Pros: Very quiet and DARK at night! Lots of opportunities to star-gaze. Nice setting with many trees and great views of the lake from our site. There is grass at each site (with a sprinkler system - why doesn’t every site have water then?). A wind blew most of the time to keep you a bit cooler (98º the first day!).

Very nice campground. Some have water and electric some just electric. We had a nice level spot with just electric but put water in on a different site. Dump station also has potable water.
We will use it again. Summer would probably get busy but Thursday night in October was quiet with plenty of open sites.
