After just saying no to Brandy Creek, I came here and was happy I did. Bryden who check me in at the store was great. No one hassled me about the National park entrance fee, so I just paid the 33/night camp fee. For RV's it's an RV row situation but there nice bathrooms right there with a beach and coin op showers a short walk away. There was a nice breeze with the lake effect to keep things cool. Good vibes.

Thought it would be fun to stay for 1 night on the way home. We would have to pay $20 for the National Park entrance fee and $25 to park in a huge blacktop lot. Not worth it! Lady was very nice and understanding.

While this is dry camping there is a dump station with potable water available. We moved our prepaid reservation from Brandy Creek so the $10 reflected the cost of that campground with 1/2 off using the National Park Pass. Camping is next to parking for the lake but it was quiet all night with no issues.

Was a good place to tent camp, right on a once beautiful Whiskeytown Lake. The area was completely destroyed by the Carr Fire in July 2018. Hoping is reopens soon.
Not much left for shade. Sad.

There is a campground but even small rigs like us don't fit. RV's end up parked in a lot with fewer options than you'd have at Walmart. $9 w senior pass. Very slow Verizon 3G connection even with antenna and amplifier. There is a dump on site.
