I only have 2 complaints.
The proximity of neighbors. The only thing separating you from site 24 is the tent pad.
And the site length listed is a little misleading. It says 40 feet which I assume is true. But we fit our 27 foot travel trailer in there and had a really hard time wedging our tow vehicle (F250) in there. Parked at an odd angle on the tent pad.
Wouldn’t choose this site again but definitely recommend for a smaller trailer.

Signage in the park does not show Area 3, which was s the only area open right now. We drove around Areas 1 and 2 which had large, private sites, and were just about to give up and go find a Cracker Barrel when we finally stumbled across Area 3. At least we had an easier arrival than the folks behind us, who missed the turnoff for Nutbush, drove several miles out to the Hibernia area and had to come back and search for their site in the dark.
We had reserved online and arrived to find #54 steeply sloped, washed out, and shorter than described, ending in the lake. Found the park office number on their website (number listed in Google Maps was wrong) and spoke with someone who offered us a choice of 3 other sites. We took #92, which was just long enough. They were kind enough not to upcharge for the electricity on #92. A ranger drove through and we thanked him; he was there to resolve a dispute over another site, and it appeared that he spent the evening resolving issues arising from reassigned sites. More accurate site descriptions could help with this.
The restroom was old and dingy but clean. One shower had no curtain. One shower curtain was attached to the rod with frayed string.
The view of the lake was nice, and the park was quieter than we expected after dark.
We had a much better experience at Hibernia last summer, or we would never have come so far off I-95 on this trip.
The one positive thing was 5G T-Mobile service at 5 bar strength, making it possible to stream a movie on a rainy night.

This is a small campground with sites of varying quality. Ours, although close to the narrow road, was a good one, waterfront and facing the lake. Don't think I'd want it on a busy weekend though. Couldn't have managed it well with a bigger rig either.
No frills here, but I enjoyed our stay.

Water and electric hookups. Had to go and buy more water hose, but we should have had a 50 ft. any way. There's a boat ramp in each of the three camp areas. Area 3 ramp is off the main lake and a little quieter if you kayak like we do. Kiosk at the gate was unmanned, don't know if that is a seasonal thing.

Camping in area 3 is for families and party types. The campground is next to the lake. There’s grass for playing around. Water to fish in. However, the sites are very close to each other. There’s zero privacy. Because of how the loop is laid out, several groups of people walked through my campsite because going around wasn’t so obvious, apparently. The bathroom is kinda gross. In case it’s not clear, the dumpster is near the bathhouse between the two loops. Expect to wait at the dump station if the campground is packed because mostly RVers stay here. The campsites are decent but we found so much trash, which says something about who stays here, too. (A screwdriver, tent stake, rope, lots of water bottle caps...I literally walked around and looking for trash.)
For the price and location, it’s a decent campground. Just don’t expect much.

Price does not reflect senior discount. Staying during the week after school started, we had the campground almost to ourselves! We were waterfront with a beautiful view. Our gravel site was in good condition and had nice shade. No complaints there. The bathhouse was dated, but clean. Needs new shower curtains though...the one in the shower I used was too small and was moldy.
I recommend arriving with a campground map in hand to help maneuver the loops and find your site. Since we arrived after dark, I was very grateful that I had a map in hand. It was DARK! Loops are tight, and I do not recommend this park for big rigs. There are a small number of sites suitable for big rigs, but maneuvering the park could be difficult. We're smaller, so we had no problem.
I was very happy with our experience, and it's very likely that we'll return when we expect it to not be crowded.

We are pretty close to our neighbors, but it’s been quiet and there are some larger spots well scope out for next time.
This group of sites does close in November I believe due to lake flooding I’m sure.
Waterfront view is wonderful and we love Kerr lake.
Bath houses are not great. Looks like they have been neglected since covid began.

Raced to get here because website States gates close by 6pm this time of year. Wrong, gate never got locked the entire weekend. Then we arrive to find someone else is in our reserved site. They wouldn't move telling us they wanted to camp next to their friends and the ranger told them they could because our site was available. There was also no camp host the entire weekend here for us to get help from. So we call the after hours ranger number and have to wait for a ranger to come. Meanwhile we're tired, hungry, and it's now dark. Ranger arrives and sees us on his list for that site. Goes and talks to the campers in our site to find out that the lady who runs the campground desk messed up and told them our site wasn't reserved and they camp there. We had to go to another spot for the night and then move again the next day.Terrible experience. Mass confusion and no management here.
