Stayed here over Labor Day weekend and really enjoyed it. The campground is well off the beaten path, so bring everything with you. Additionally, the road going into the campground is very narrow (and labeled as such) so take your time going in. There is a Camp Host, but that’s all I can tell you because I never saw them. Reservations for site must be made online and there is no check-in process, you just go to your site. For the four days we were there no one ever verified our reservation.
The campground is very small and I would say the sites have decent spacing. Our pad (site 9)was about ten feet away from the neighbors picnic table. Our favorite sites were 1,8,12,16 and 18. The worst is 10 because it’s backwards.
Speaking of backwards, the dump station is also on the wrong side of the loop. From site 9 we had to pull out and drive to the boat ramp. From there, I backed down the ramp and the drove the wrong way down the loop so my trailer would be aligned properly to the station. The other option is to take the loop around (the right way) and back into the dump. However, there were three people in front of me that also chose my method.
The sites are all paved and well kept as well as the area around the lake. The only complaint is that the fishing dock was in disrepair and was closed for use. I had no problems with electric or water on my site. We have Verizon and did not have service while in the campground.
Overall, it’s a nice, small campground that I would visit again.

While there we drove through the other 3 campgrounds nearby (South Hurricane, Bear Lake and Krul) - North Hurricane is the best.

We loved staying here and would have liked to stay for longer. Pretty spot right on the lake. Fishing pier and boat ramp, but multiple signs say no swimming due to alligators in the lake. I would have given this campground 5 stars, but knocked off a star because no cell service and the bathrooms were “rustic” if not somewhat creepy i.e. haven’t been updated or fixed up in decades, though did seem reasonably clean. When we were here, it seemed like 2 out of every 3 sites was closed for covid, which made it really spacious and nice. Otherwise, the sites may be a little close together if all were filled.

On the lake or lake view for most sites. Electric, water, table, fire pit at each site, dump station at entrance. Some construction at bath house and at various sites (new electric hookups). Our 36' class A was at its limits on leveling at this site. Shorter campers will have no problem. $15 nightly rate is with senior discount. Iron ranger pay system if you don't make online reservation. Roads to campground are paved and in good shape. Out in the middle of nowhere! 1-2 bars ATT LTE about 50% of the time, we did get several TV stations using a cheap WalMart antenna on the dashboard.
