Question about Nomad View Dispersed Camping

Jake the Snake asked on 8/2/2021

Is this campsite accessible to standard passenger vehicles? i.e. a Prius? I plan to scout the road when I reach the gate but it would handy to know other people's experiences in advance. Thanks!

Yes you can drive a car. If it muddy it could be messy.

Yes, if it's dry you can get a car to the cell tower and ridge. Just be aware of some large and deep ruts potentially.

If it’s raining it could be dicey. There are some big dips in the road but as long as you take it slow you can maneuver around them. It’s totally worth it!

I think you'll be fine, just pick your line, avoid deep pot holes. It's like driving in Detroit.

We saw a number of cars there but O think the Prius rides pretty low. If the ground isn't wet it would probably be fine though if it's windy you'll sleep in the car.

I think if you were careful and picked the right path it’d be fine. Conditions can change though so be careful.

Yes, as long as it’s not wet or going to rain because the road in gets very slick. We saw numerous cars here without campers.

If there has been NO or LITTLE Rain you should be fine. Just stay on the high side of the road. This is the most spectacular camps site we’ve been!

Yes, should be fine unless it has been or about to rain. Then can be impassable until it dries out or the ruts get smoothed down.

As long as it hasn’t rained real recently you should be fine! It’s a dirt road and can be a little washboard in places but from our experience and all the research we did prior to stopping there, lots of different vehicles get out there with no problems if it’s dry. Enjoy your trip!

No problem at all. We only traveled the road leading to the two towers. Few potholes just go slow and enjoy. You may even see a ram standing on the road!
