Although we agree with the other reviews, this park needs some updating, we enjoyed our time here. The location can’t be beat for exploring this part of the bourbon trail. Although we agree with the other reviews, this park needs some updating, we enjoyed our time here. The location can’t be beat for exploring this part of the bourbon trail. Our site, #22, worked for us. We did see that some sites had funky and inconvenient water and electric hookups. But the website is good on that, look closely. The park was pretty empty and there wasn’t much presence of a camp host, even though one appeared to be there. And our fire pit had a bunch of trash and glass in it (why are we seeing that so often these days?!?). We would stay here again if in the area.

This is a nice little campground needing a little TLC, Sites are no level but nothing a few blocks can’t fix. Most pads seem short and a larger rig my be difficult to park. This is a nice little campground needing a little TLC, Sites are no level but nothing a few blocks can’t fix. Most pads seem short and a larger rig my be difficult to park. We have a 32 foot total length and fit find but others sites would be to small. We did see larger rigs here. The dump station has a hose to flush black tanks. I worked here for a week had AT&T no issues streamed Netflix. This is a great place to use for a base camp to see Bardstown and local distilleries. Over all I would come back for sure and use.

Like the other reviews- I found it to be a tired looking state campground overdue for some TLC or upgrades. The sites have a wide range of slope to them- from not bad (our friends at #11) to ours-where we needed all our leveling blocks. Like the other reviews- I found it to be a tired looking state campground overdue for some TLC or upgrades. The sites have a wide range of slope to them- from not bad (our friends at #11) to ours-where we needed all our leveling blocks. When you book- pay close attention to the details of slope and distance to the utilities that are provided for each site. It’s there for a reason. Some are way better than others.
Bath house was “acceptable” and I saw where it was routinely being cleaned. camp hosts were actually very helpful. Quiet campground, centrally located to multiple bourbon distilleries which was why we’ve picked it.
In general it was just a curious campground within a well maintained state park- the vibe was the campground had seen better days compared to the rest of the facility.

Attention GOLFERS! Bring your clubs, because this campground is adjacent to a the clubhouse for a public golf course. Too bad I'm not a golfer! Attention GOLFERS! Bring your clubs, because this campground is adjacent to a the clubhouse for a public golf course. Too bad I'm not a golfer!
Within 2 miles of multiple distilleries and downtown Bardstown, which makes this extremely convenient to many points of interest.
Tmobile reception was excellent: 99 mbps down, 8 up, without any special equipment.
Sites are extremely uneven. I should have placed both of my wheels on blocks to get the necessary elevation to level front-to-back.
Sites are spaced close together, but all campers I encountered were very friendly.

The location is fantastic for trips to Bardstown. The campground is poorly maintained. Avoid site 17. The muddy runoff from the entire campground flowed through our side as it left the property. Hookups are a long distance from sites, so make sure you have 50’ hookup lines.

I was excited to stay at MOKH but left a little disappointed. The historic buildings are far away and the only thing near the campground is a golf course. I was excited to stay at MOKH but left a little disappointed. The historic buildings are far away and the only thing near the campground is a golf course. Hookups were really far so had to buy additional water hose. Bathhouse was below average. Clean but just worn out. Playground was worn out as well. Lastly for whatever reason they are cutting down many of the trees but leaving stumps all over. Just a little disappointed but as a base camp to hit the bourbon trail is provides a place to park the trailer.

Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful park. We stayed the second week of October and the leaves on the trees were changing colors and falling. Truly spectacular. True that the sites are not level. We were originally assigned site 26 for our 40 ft 5th wheel which would not fit. There was a very big drop off. We changed sites and stayed in site 4 which was a pull through close to the golf course. Very quiet. The restrooms need some updating. We had 3amps, water & no sewer. However there is a dump station. Would recommend for short stays in the autumn.

This is a smaller campground in the middle of Bardstown. There were no entrance or vehicle fees for camping in this State Park, however it is not really near the historic buildings of My Old Kentucky Home. This is a smaller campground in the middle of Bardstown. There were no entrance or vehicle fees for camping in this State Park, however it is not really near the historic buildings of My Old Kentucky Home. The sites are a bit small and close together, and we picked one rated as a "Severe" grade and we couldn't get as level as we prefer. There are free showers, although water smells a little sulphur-y. The fees seem to vary depending on the month or if it is a weekend, but we got a cheaper than posted rate booking online with a AAA discount.
There was a small, older playground, however areas were roped off due to yellow jacket nests. The park was mostly booked on a mid-September weekend, with mostly out-of-staters. Bardstown is a great place to tour Bourbon distilleries and has a very cute historic downtown with nice shopping. We enjoyed our visit here.

Although many of the sites are not level and the utilities are shared, I really enjoyed my stay at this campground in September 2019. In sight 24 we were able to get level without even using blocks or levelers. however, the utility pole between our site and the other was extremely far and we barely were able to connect. That is the case for many of the sites here, but the ones closer to the bath house seem to be better from that respect. Speaking of the bath house, it was very clean and had good water pressure for showering.
There is a dog park within walking distanceas well as the Heaven Hill distillery. The State Park golf course is connected to the campground, so you can easily hit the links from here too.

This campground is conveniently located near Bardstown. The campground itself is surrounded by a golf course, but it is completely wooded so you really can't see the golf course much. Unfortunately all the sites long enough for our 34 ft MH were extremely unlevel. Like us, all the big rigs in the park had one set of their jacks fully extended trying to get as level as possible.
