We just needed a place for a few hours of sleep on our way to Niagara Falls. This place was great. It was after midnight when we got there, pulled right in and didn’t even have to use anything to level. Stayed hooked up to the truck. Lots of big rigs there too. We just needed a place for a few hours of sleep on our way to Niagara Falls. This place was great. It was after midnight when we got there, pulled right in and didn’t even have to use anything to level. Stayed hooked up to the truck. Lots of big rigs there too. Very clean and easily accessible dump station and water if you needed it. We chose site 1 so we didn’t have to drive past other campers late at night and it was the perfect site. Large and very level. It was electric only, but they have some full hookups too.

Very small but nice campground. Bathrooms were well maintained. Decent short trails and open areas for the kids. Sites 31 is by a street light that is a great nightlight but otherwise annoying

I stayed from a Sunday to Saturday and during the week the park was almost empty and very quiet. Friday night the park was full and it was still relatively quiet. As others have said, the sites sizes vary but are pretty small, some with a cement block at the back making it difficult for larger rigs to get in and level and still be able... more
I stayed from a Sunday to Saturday and during the week the park was almost empty and very quiet. Friday night the park was full and it was still relatively quiet. As others have said, the sites sizes vary but are pretty small, some with a cement block at the back making it difficult for larger rigs to get in and level and still be able to put down all their stabilizer jacks. Also, the sites have no angle, they’re perpendicular to the road so that added to the struggle for some. But the park was nice and clean, there are multiple playgrounds and things for kids to do. You can walk down to the small lake and there are posts showing the different trails nearby. Bathrooms were clean, showers are decent and I even did laundry. Not sure this would be my first pick but I would stay again. But I would choose a different site.

We stayed one night here. The park is in a nice area with beautiful forests and lakes. The campsites include a concrete pad and full hook ups. Our site sloped down a lot from the pad both behind and on the curb side. We had good cell reception with TMobil. The campground was full, but no problem with noise. There are beautiful grassy areas with picnic pavilions in the park, but not in the campground. The bathrooms and showers were fine according to my husband.

This little gem has many sites that sit right in the midst of tall trees and are backed by the woods. My site had really nice shade that made sitting out on hot, sunny afternoons quite pleasant. This little gem has many sites that sit right in the midst of tall trees and are backed by the woods. My site had really nice shade that made sitting out on hot, sunny afternoons quite pleasant. The sites are closer than most OH state parks but we had a wonderful experience.
The sites are rather short, and big rigs will have difficulty with the 90 degree back-in turns to get to the sites.
Verizon was surprisingly decent for download speeds. I wasn't working but had 67.4 mbps download speeds and 2.77 mbps upload speeds without a booster on the 5G UW network.

This somewhat new campground was designed by an RV park designer. Tiny cramped together sites. No space for vehicle to park. Cars everywhere, on the grass in the street. Yes they offer 50a full hook up sites, but they gave up tbe state park experience. There were as many dogs as campers during our stay. The one positive is the newness ... more

Yes they offer 50a full hook up sites, but they gave up tbe state park experience. There were as many dogs as campers during our stay. The one positive is the newness and quality of the bathhouse/ laundry building. But they even messed that up when covid craziness broke. The shower water is controlled by motion detectors. Crazy on off water flow. Do you really think covid is passed by shower knobs???? Dumpsters and laundry are not on the campground map.

The spaces are back in, and not super deep. I found it quiet and lovely. Got a site with just electric, no water. Plenty of space between sites in this loop. There is no WiFi but I’m getting 2-3 bars in Verizon and tethering to get email and web surfing done. With 2 bars on a Speedtest, 30mps down and 3 up! There are nice trails and... more

There are nice trails and a lovely lake/reservoir with benches. Some fishing, no swimming. Nice office at the front and some pay areas for kids. After a lot of interstate driving, I found this place peaceful and beautiful, a perfect overnight to get some nature vibes.
I was here in a Sunday night. About half full. With Covid, you have to reserve online in advance. No walkins. Price listed includes $6.50 internet reservation fee.

There are nice, fairly rugged trails around the camp.

Overall a great experience for my wife and I. We pull a 30' couples rig and had no trouble getting into our reserved site. Overall a great experience for my wife and I. We pull a 30' couples rig and had no trouble getting into our reserved site. However, we were the first here in our grouping, so backing in and setting up was effortless. Larger rigs will find it difficult to back into a site if they choose either arm of the park (yes, only 2 little arms).
We wished we had brought our kayaks on the this particular outing, but will definitely bring for next time. Yes there will certainly be a next time. Mount Gilead SP has a nice little reservoir that is perfect for some exercise or a little fishing.

Price reflects 10% military discount with 50 amp FHU site. Smaller state park with sites in our section that we’re cement-paved and level...but quarters are very close and tight for a big rig to maneuver easily in here. Smaller state park with sites in our section that we’re cement-paved and level...but quarters are very close and tight for a big rig to maneuver easily in here. Newer bath house with private, tiled clean showers with no heat adjustment and they were HOT! Decent laundry with newer machines for $1.25 wash. Some nice trails and playgrounds and other activities for kids. A T & T cell service was consistently 4+ bars.
Signage at entrance doesn’t specify camping area, so be sure to stop at “Welcome Center”, on the right for instructions, which is also a decent camp store.
