If you need an electric campsite to run your AC in summer, McPhee Recreation Complex is located 18 miles north of Mesa Verde NP. Paved electric sites are $36/night ($27 with an Interagency Senior Pass) and water is available at several faucets. The best Anasazi museum in SW Colorado is next door--the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum.

There is a dump station with portable water, but the “dry” campsites are completely bare of amenities - no electricity.

Except for picnic tables, they are bare. BYOG (Bring Your Own Generator). Everyone seems to follow the posted hours for generators which gives good chunks of quiet time during the day and of course all night.

They are bare. A better choice than Morefield is at Ancient Cedars RV Park https://maps.app.goo.gl/fKq2ev3sCYi2KNhq9
