Quiet spot to do some boondocking near the Grand Tetons. Access to the site is down a gravel road that is well kept, besides a pothole or two near the campground. There were maybe 5 others who had taken a space in the area and most were gone during the day. Quick access to the park from this location. We had a ranger/host come around and check on us while we were there and let us know about a wildfire that was nearby. We picked up water at Signal Campground and dumped at Colter Bay. Signal Campground was a little tight for our 40' fifth wheel getting into the dump. We scraped up the side of our rig trying to make the turn. Colter Bay is available for both fill and dump, even if not staying in the campground. Be aware though that it had rather low branches in the loops and we scraped our solar panels there too. So take your pick...
Starlink gave us 45 down and 15 up. Verizon on our phones had 3 bars (34/0.01). Verizon with the cell antenna gave us 4 bars (90/10). AT&T gave us 3 bars (5/2.5).

I arrived around 1 o’clock and there was only three other campers but pretty spread out. Has a nice view and it’s pretty quiet. I would come back again.

1. Incredibly level dirt road leading up to the spot; no major ruts or potholes
2. If you park your camper just right, you can get some great unobstructed views of the Tetons from your sitting area
3. The campground host is a delight and did a lot to ensure bear safety for all of us
4. While there are mosquitoes, there are significantly fewer mosquitoes here than there are in the Spread Creek sites that are in the woods
A few cons that really weren't a huge deal
1. It is a large gravel lot with lots of other people and campers. It was still mostly quiet and peaceful, but it wasn't as pretty as some of the more secluded spots
2. The mosquitoes could get pretty annoying if there wasn't wind to whip them around. We had to stay inside a little more than we wanted
Overall, we really loved our time here and will definitely be back to boondock here again in the future!!

just past the rock yard is where you enter NF land with the Moran Vista to the left and to the right fork Spread Creek NF camping areas..
I got bored so took shovel and tub from the sink to and after like 12 or so loads got the major holes as you come in to Moran Vista somewhat filled in.. always remember you can so the same to help not only yourself but others.. if we all do a bit it help.. now there are some place like the one to the right spread creek the WHOLE frickin road is a pot hole.. LOL///
the cell service for Tmobile non existence.. you roam on H and it slow as crap. ATT is a bit better.. seem ATT and Verizon are the king and this H thing is no telling who.. there is a tower on signal mountain which is NW of the camp area. tried to point the weboost that way and it was not great. seem pointing more west than north got better.. better being 3-6 down vs .5 down . Starlink no problem no trees.
THere is plenty of spots and most backing from the first 1/4 way back on the left and right.. Backing in allows more rigs to use the area.. so be aware and back in ..
its quiet, couple of generator but they are quiet type.. dark at night and plenty of sun for solar.
there is a "dispersed Campground Host" with a sign on a brownish toyota that come in most morning around 10 and afternoon around 8 to check on folks. you can only stay 5 days at this place then you gotta move on..
overall a good area, close to jenny lake and Moran entrance to Tetons NP..

This was a great place to park for a few days while visiting the Tetons. Easy access to either park entrance. About 30 miles to Jackson. Even found a level spot.

The only problem is a couple of large potholes as you go from the road into the large lot, but you can drive around them. The site is large with several rigs all around, but plenty of room and a stunning view of the Tetons to the west and a lovely prairie to the north. Some sites have stone fire rings. It was quiet and I felt very safe leaving our rig all day. Definitely better than Gros Ventre Campground, which cost us $55/night.

The drive here is very beautiful! The parking is just a big gravel parking lot. It's kinda ugly, but there's plenty of space.
There are more beautiful campsites up the road a ways if you can fit.

(stayed September 2021) I pulled into this location after I couldn't find a space at an adjacent forest road space. I was thrilled, not with the dusty distance from the main road, but how open and clean the location was. I could be difficult to get level so plan to twist and turn your RV to avoid having wheels off the ground. Enough space for at least a dozen or more rigs of all sizes while still keeping 50' or so distance.
You are night enough to see part of the Tetons but need to travel to the main road to get the money shot.
My only complaint is that this area has a lot of things to see and that mile to and from the main road really gets annoying when you're making the trip 2-3 times a day.
