We called about two months before our stay to reserve a site. We were looking for three nights but the minimum stay was four nights. We were meeting family so we reserved it. Upon arrival we found there was no reservation under our name. After several minutes they found our name had been misspelled in the computer. The staff was very good and did work to find it. We traveled with our dog and they did ask to see the rabies certificate. The campground is a large area that has about 300 sites. The main roads are level, wide, surfaced with crush stone and can get hilly in a few loops. Depending on your site it maybe a long walk to the amenities. We arrived on our site which was level and large. The surface is all crushed stone, (if you have pets, it'll hurt their paws), with a fire pit and picnic table. Our hook ups included, water, 30/50amp electric, sewer and cable TV. Everything worked as it should. There was no wifi available at the site only near the pool area. The grounds were clean, there is a laundry room $$, golf cart rentals $$, a camp store that has ice and firewood $$, an arcade $$, a concession stand $$ and you can get a canopy $$$ by the pool...the only shade! All things one would expect to pay for but expect to pay a lot as most of these things are overpriced. One thing I didn't expect to pay for...a shower! Yes, bring your quarters with you to the showers, a cost that should be built into the cost of the site. I believe if they could.....they charge you to use the bathrooms.
The pool area is the main draw and is great for all ages. The kids loved the pool slides and on certain nights they have movie night in the pool. There is a playground area and an amphitheater with an occasional show. There is security at the entrance and you must have an annoying wrist band on at all times. If it comes off....yep more $$$$. There are gas stations near by as well as stores for groceries and a farmers market. I have Verizon service and the signal was 1/2 bars.
As for as the price $180.75 a night, that included all taxes and a reservation fee we were charged so we could be next to family....even though the sites were empty. It really is a nice campground and all had a good time but because of the $723.00 for four nights...it's just tooo much money for us to spent on a campsite...regardless of the amenities.

We came up here to visit Lake George. This particular campground was the only one that had an opening on the days we wanted. There is a lot good and some bad about this place.
The good- friendly staff, clean facilities, roomy and private campground gravel lots that are pretty level. Huge fun pool for everyone. It has two slides and they have nighttime floating movies on certain nights. New golf carts to rent. All 6 seaters! Fun activities available each day for the kids if you want. Sufficient Verizon cell service. 2 bars LTE.
The bad- they charge you for EVERYTHING! And their prices are high. We arrived an hour and a half early for check in and they charged us $45. It’s not that they had to clear the lot for us it was just one of those hidden charges. They issue a wrist band that has to worn 24/7 to get around the park and pool. Similar to when you’re at the hospital. If you lose it or break it, $15 for a new one! Propane prices were $6.75 a gallon! Go to tractor supply down the street it’s $3.75 a gallon. Firewood is $9 a bundle, $4 outside the park. $10 a day to use your own golf cart. No trash pick up. The roads around the park are gravel and hilly in some spots. Not very well maintained either making riding a bike difficult. LOTS OF RULES as well. Rules are always good to have but these seemed to be a bit overkill. Bath houses charge you coins to use the shower. No WiFi in the park except in the pool area and that didn’t even work. No alcoholic beverages anywhere in the park or pool except on your camp site. Don’t plan on having a cold one pool side with your friends.
All in all, I give the park an average rating because the balance between the good and the bad. They could easily make this a 5 star resort if they addressed some issues and added a few more services. We probably won’t come back to this spot. There are a lot of other places near by that hopefully are not as tight and don’t nickel and dime everyone. Safe travels!

The pool was very nice and the kids had a wonderful time swimming and going on the 2 slides. They did have a show and movie while we were there but we missed them because we were doing other things in the area. Garbage bins did get to overflowing I think they should have an additional pickup in the week.

We stayed here August 2019 as a treat to our grandsons (ages 6 & 4). The RV park large, over 740 sites. All full hookup with cable. Hard pack gravel sites and roads. Not great or safe for walking or little kid bike riding. Sites are well planned out with some of the best space and privacy between sites. Easy for large Class As and 5ers. We enjoyed the huge pool with liberal open hours 9:÷0 am to 9:30 PM. Two water slides, large faux mountain with skull head, waterfalls wtc. Lit up at night. Sites and buildings were very clean. Bathhouses decently located. Laundry only by main hub area. Great park for families and there are tons of kids. No "adult" space though which we felt was a negative. We did not see any library, lounge space, no hot tub or indoor space to relax with your laptop or watch TV with friends. Due to inclement weather we did not get to any organized activities. They do have a nice large covered pavilion. We never saw their moose mascot anywhere. Their playground was minimal, mostly climb on pressure treated ship, train etc and one set of swings. Clearly the massive heated salt water (not too salty) is the total draw amenity to this park. They do also rent golf carts. Due to distance of some sites in the loops you will need one or drive. Cell signal on our site with verizon was barely two bars 4g. No garbage pick up. Everyone has to bring to a bank of dumpsters which had one small entry in and out of the carved out dirt holding area. For the price per day, pick up should happen at sites.

Close to home, every site is private, modern full hook ups, clean bathrooms, clean showers,Excellent experience. This campground has a lot of rules but they are all to keep the campers safe and happy and the facility in tiptop shape.

Our first trip here was enjoyable. We wish they had blacktop roads here, though. It's quite hilly, and we were quite a ways from the pool and office/store area, and would normally have ridden our bikes down there, but it's quite hilly and on the dirt roads, my wife does not like riding her bike due to having a spill on a dirt road once.
The sites are also the largest of any campground we've been at. Our site was possibly one of the smaller ones, and still was larger than most places. We had a little trouble leveling our RV, but once we turned it a bit to level it, we had complete privacy back in our site. The sites are often "dug out" making a 3-4 foot wall of ground within the trees, around your site! We couldn't see any of our neighbors at all!
Our biggest complaint was that the WIFI was non-existent at our site. Both my son and I are in the IT business, and we had no WIFI at our site, so we had to use our phone data all the while we were there for any access to our systems back at work. Luckily, my service was OK and I used my phone as a hotspot to save everyone on data usage a bit. I don't remember what level we had for wireless service, it was a bit slow though.
The pool and waterpark is one of the nicest we've ever seen. HUGE pool, largest anywhere we've been so far, and two waterslides.
Nice concession stand with ice cream and snack foods.
There is a nice, large pavillion, and they have entertainment there often on weekends, but we did not get down there for that. I think it was a magician on our weekend.

“managers of resort are untrustworthy, disrespectful, and unlawful ”
noted 6/28/2021
I have already contacted the New York bureau of human rights regarding my experience at moosehillock. Both managers, crystal and Ed, were highly inappropriate initially and then started to gaslight and threaten me. Ed discriminated me because I was a woman and wouldn’t look at me or speak to me. He would not provide any regular and or typical documentation that should be provided by a resort or campsite with integrity and morals. They try to withhold receipts and documents. If you want to stay somewhere your family feels safe and somewhere you can trust, please choose elsewhere. Ed and crystal turned a minor problem into a huge debacle. As crystal would not even speak to me or apologize. They both would not own up to their lies or provide any evidence or documentation when asked to support their lies. Crystal refused to apologize or even acknowledge me. If she had said sorry or at least treated me with once single tiny ounce of respect, we would not be in this situation. However, no apology was received and I asked numerous times for an apology and for proper documentation and for video footage that Ed called me a liar regarding. I’ve never dealt with such sketchy, cheating people. I’m truly heart broken and disgusted over this experience. It was my first vacation with my two children EVER. I hope other moms read the countless reviews about how poor the management is. It seems this is a common complaint, but there seems to be no action being taken by moosehillock owners because the negative reviews regarding management keep flooding in. Your staff need training and you need to have managers that have integrity and morals. I NEVER write bad reviews. I want the best for people; I have good intentions, but I cannot sit back and allow Ed to get away with discriminating and threatening me. My voice needs to heard as well as the numerous others shouting the same exact message. Please take action now before this situation becomes out of control and someone gets hurt or more chaos ensues. Thank you for your time and care.
