“Nice, But Noisy Dogs All Night”

The place is beautiful, but surrounded by people’s homes. One set of dogs barked off and on from the time I got there until I left the next morning. I don’t understand how anyone would let their dogs bark like that. Not to mention the bull that started in at midnight! Just too many homes in the area. People drove through the camp all night as well.

Easy to get to, with access off a paved road (Brooklyn-Janice Rd), small free campground, with one central water spigot, and one restroom. There are only 4 numbered campsites here, on level grass, and nicely shaded by hardwood trees and pines. However, there is plenty of room for about 4 other RV's to fit in here if no one objected. Each of the 4 campsites has a picnic table, and 2 of the campsites have fire rings. You can view and walk down to the river from the campsite.
The restroom is locked with a notice announcing that this and other Forest campsites are closed due to concerns about COVID19. Really?!! -- a meager 4 campsites and only 2 campers and they are concerned about spreading the virus while thousands of people march into Walmart every day! Officially closed or not, I and one other camper are staying here until a ranger kicks us out.
It's very quiet and peaceful here, except for late afternoon when hunters' dogs create quite a racket. There is little traffic on the road. Someone has hacked a trail across the road from the campground, that leads to a small rivulet.
There is a gravel road (with access to vehicles now gated), that you can walk down to the river, I.e."The Landing". AT&T cell service fluctuates from 1 to 0 bars.
Vanamee would stay here again
