This campground is owned and operated by a local community service club.
Almost all of the sites while I was here (in early August) appear to be occupied by seasonal campers with very, very few sites (maybe a handful) available for short term stays. I emailed about a week ahead and the reply stated they would have a site on a weeknight for a one night stay. When I emailed back asking if I should make a reservation, I received no reply. When I arrived, the office (which is a portion of a private home at the entrance) was locked and there was no informational signage. I called and the woman said I should have knocked on the door, as she keeps the door locked all the time. Once inside, check-in was a breeze and I paid $25 (cash or check only) for a back-in 50 amp site. The park provides a 50 amp to 30 amp dog bone if you need one. She pointed to a pair of sites about 50 yards from the office and said I should take one of those. I chose site #10 which is nicely packed gravel, shady and nearly level. The water and electric were on the wrong side but were not that far away. The only bathhouse, which is dated and fairly clean, is about 50 yards from where my site was located.
Getting here is fairly easy as the park is about a mile off of US 50. Interior roads are somewhat narrow and many of the sites are laid out around a lake. All sites have electric and water and some are full hookup. There is a dump station behind the bath house. There is a dock and boat ramp along with a small laundry room. I had a fairly good Verizon signal and was able to get a handful of OTA TV channels.
Since there are so few short term sites, I would certainly call or email ahead to be sure a site will be available if one is just traveling through the area.
