Hollering in woods all night, party central. Very noisy spot. Barking dogs all day long.

After that, the first few sites that are available for camping are pretty rocky to get into, but looked really pretty as they were close to the rim. Based on another review, I wanted to stay in site 16. But it was taken, so I stayed across the road in 15. I did drive further into the camping areas and thought that the road was actually pretty awesome for a Forest Service Rd.
I have a 27 foot trailer and even though it rained two nights in a row I was able to get out with no problems in the mud with just a 2 wheel drive vehicle.

The road in is only rutted at the entrance, the rest is really well managed. About 40 sites dot the road out to the edge of the Rim.
Any size rig can use, I was parked next to a 40ft Class A this weekend. Lots of Razors and loud music on the weekends.

You are in the mountains so it will get cold expecting low 20’s in late November. Only saw one other vehicle. Good cell service for my travelfi. Worth the stop if needing rest as I do but have a feeling after exploring in the am it may be worth a longer stay.

Camp Host on site, but true boondocking. Take FR 9512 almost to the end for best sites, about 3-4 miles in. Numerous sites to choose from both on Rim side and forest side. Rim sites get a lot of wind.

Campsites are well marked and each have one if not 2-3 stone fire pits. We chose to go right up to the rim which was pretty windy the night we were there, but plenty of sights are better protected.
Great area for groups and big rigs could get in here no problem. Some sites are pull through.
In early November we were the only ones there. Magic.
