Location is great—close to town, on the river and right on a trail system. Easy to book online and the staff was helpful and kind when we ended up needing to cancel our first reservation. Campground is very treed but we were still able to get a connection for Starlink in the part of the campground with utilities. The bathrooms looked like a set of a horror film—rusty, dirty and full of hairballs from past humans. If you use the handicap one you are far enough away from the walls to feel ok. Showers are hot and not timed if you want to linger, but you probably won’t. The site map for the campground is actually pretty accurate with site boundaries and the site you get matters—some are pretty narrow. Site 1 is my pick for the best site—super wide and deep with no chance of neighbors on one side. We’d stay again if nothing else was available but would probably try and get in at the private campground nearby instead.

Overall, park is clean and lower sites looked nice and well spaced. I figured for a $10 difference the powered sites would be worth it. They were not. They are so close having a fire is not permitted on top sites. I can get that in a motel room.

We wanted an inexpensive place to stay in Palmer. This was perfect. The electric sites are pretty close together, but plenty of length to fit our 31ft C class plus our jeep. Met some nice neighbors. Had a good couple of days touring the area. Highly recommend the Musk Ox tour. Hardly heard any planes at all.

We stayed one night. We tried to book online but same day reservations were not allowed. We drove in at 2pm. We actually met the camp host onsite that showed us a list of available sites and said just choose one and let me know. We liked having power for cheap. They have dry camping sites way back in the forest. Small planes fly over constantly, since it’s under an airport. The sites are tight and I don’t know how anything over 30’ gets in. Dump station on site.

We stayed one night at spot 4 with elec hookup. It costs 30$. The service was ok. The campground is clean and the people were nice. There is a dump station available for 5$. Dry Camping costs 20$.
There it an airfield nearby, so if you don’t like the noise of little airplanes you might be in trouble over there.

We stayed in the dry camping sites, which were nice with plenty of space between if your rig is not too big to get in that area, the road is pretty tight. RV sites had electric only and were really close together. Friendly staff, great day use and park area. Showers are now included in price of camping, but they were not very clean, the woman’s shower didn’t drain and the handles were falling off in the mens. $5 extra if you want to use the dump station, there is a cut off hose for flushing water, which is useless if you have a screw in connector as we do. Took 35 minutes to top off our already half filled fresh water tank as there was no pressure and their connector leaked a lot. Some mosquitos around, but not too bad given spring arrived so late. Campground is located just by the very busy airport, our site was directly under the landing approach, but most of the traffic was small planes so it was kinda cool to watch them come in. Only one plane came over in the middle of the night, but they do start back up early morning. We will try somewhere else when we pass by this way again.

Pretty area. River access is a decent drop off to get there. Wooded sites big enough for bigger rigs are a little slim. Upper area has plenty of space for bigger rigs. They consider bigger than 24ft to be big. Showers are pay to use. Bug spray like everywhere in AK is a must.

Great campsite! Enjoyed my stay! I was happy with the service and privacy. It’s nice to have a fire and relax after a long day on the road. There’s also showers for $2.
