Very nice setting on a small lake. It’s about 8-9 miles off of I-20 so super convenient for my one night stop. Good news that it had hook-ups that were working. Several sites were markers off due to leaking water faucets. Overall nice place. Great cool weather was a bonus.

The night I camped was unusually busy. I met Barbara, the manager, on Saturday morning a little while before I packed up and left. She could not have been nicer. She explained that the previous night had been unusually busy and was one of the busiest nights of the last year. There were still several campsites available when I pulled in around 5pm. Honor box was easy to find and there were plenty of envelopes. The sites were well maintained. The restrooms were about what you'd expect. They weren't spotless but not dirty at all. Took two showers and both times had plenty of hot water. The light polution was very low and the sky was just bursting with stars and planets. The lake is small but theres a nice trail around it. I read that the roads were bad but I took a different route out of the forest than I did coming in and found the roads to be fine. No pot holes. A few dips and cracks but nothing that would cause any type of car any issues at all.
All of the sites seemed spread out. I was at site 19 and there was tons of space between be and other campers. I'll definitly camp there again. I have T mobile and service was almost entirely out but I did have a few random moments with one bar so I was able to get a message out to my family.
I rated the noise very low. I don't fault the campground at all. There were just so many boy scouts and they were being extremly loud and obnoxious until after 10pm. I didn't hear any adults with them telling them to quiet down. Barbara said that usually the boy scouts are more seperated but they have a water leak that was being repaired so it caused the scouts to be in the main camping area. Otherwise the campground is very remote and is probably very quiet.

If you love being surrounded by nature, then this campground in the Bienville National Forest is for you! We had no trouble getting our 38' Class A in a site, although some look a little short for us. The sites are first come, first served, but the campground was almost empty the weekend we were there. It is not full hookup, but had 50 and 30 amp electricity and water at all the sites that we looked at. We have AT&T and had little to no service there. There are bath houses, but we didn't use them. There is a small swimming area and some pavilions on one end. There are some easy hikes, but it was a little hot when we were there, so we didn't hike. Take bug spray! The camp hostess is awesome! We enjoyed our stay very much!

The camp host, Barbara, was very nice.
We had to pickup a lot of food scraps when we arrived at our site before we set up.
Some of the area roadways were a bumpy, especially if you're pulling a camper. So keep an eye out and drive carefully.

We, Rahkim and Jera are thankful to have had a great experience here with the help of Tom. Showers were great as well. One of the best parks we've been to. Electricity. Water. Showers. Great camp host.

Nice and shaded campground. Most sites level and on good condition. 20 minutes or so off of I-20. Called Ranger office before exiting highway and he was very helpful advising site availability and access for 35’ fifth wheel and tow vehicle. One night stop over.

We arrived on December 2nd, on a Sunday. We chose site #32 though there was only one other site occupied in the park. Price for our site was $20. Sites vary in size and have a fire ring, grill, water, electric and paved parking areas. There was no firewood for sale anywhere in the campground while we were there. All sites are in moderate shade all day. While we were there (Early Dec), sites were not blown off (pine needles and leaves) and it can be difficult to see the outline of the parking areas at night. Easy access to two bathhouses which have showers. While we were there, there was no hot water from the sink faucets, though the showers did have hot water. Showers are free, push/timer type. We found that some of the bathrooms had not been cleaned in quite a while and some of the bathroom areas show signs of wear and tear and need refurbishing, but for the most part are serviceable. My wife reported that the ladies room was not, and had not been cleaned. She simply used the other bathroom.
There are a number of access points to the lake for fishing especially those who want to fly fish. Boat ramp seems small so smaller craft and Kayak may optimal. Verizon coverage on my phone claimed that I had 1 bar/ 3G yet, I was unable to retrieve any email or messages.
There is a camp host at this site though we never interacted with him. We paid at the kiosk and though we did see him drive through in his golf cart, neither one of us saw him empty trash or attempt to clean either bathhouse. This may be due, though perhaps not excusable, to the fact that there were hardly any campers here and that the campground was closing for the season on Dec 12th, just ten days from when we were there.
We would stay here again in hopes that bathroom cleanliness issue was just a “hiccup” though would search for other options in the area as well.
