“Great Cell Signal and big sites”

Easy gravel road access that any rig can make it up. Sites are nice and big and marked with fire rings. No issue finding a site on a Saturday although it’s hot today so maybe that is keeping people away. Cell signal on AT&T is great. 77 down and 14 up. I can see the towers on the top of a neighboring hill.

This was a great open space, and easy to access!! We are new to dispersed camping and always take the first open spot! They have been the best spots with the least risk!! We had lots of friendly cows & calves visit us here!! We have raised cattle, so they didn't bother us!! Do watch where you step!!

Just a word of advice, if you tow a travel trailer like we do (21 feet ) DO NOT attempt to go up the mountain unless you know what you doing and have a truck able to handle it.... Super private with some noise over Memorial Day weekend - nothing to be concerned about. A few washboards and some delightful pinstripes from the shrubs but solid service on both Verizon and ATT.

I am not sure how to feel about this area. It is very close to Durango and there are plenty of spots. Super easy to get to whether you are in a car of RV. But sadly, camping in CO has changed. I arrived early to make sure I could get a spot( on a Tuesday) and found a great one. Like other reviews, once you hit the tower, that’s the last area. But, throughout the night, instead of honoring spots with campfire pits, tents were pitched everywhere and literally so close to me I could hear snoring and coughing throughout the night. I know the wilderness is for everyone, but do you have to stay right next to someone in a vast open area?!Although the last pull off has the best views, it’s also last resort so I think that’s why it was so jam packed on a Tuesday. There is good space between each but not when people set up camp anywhere. Also, that last pull off is not a pull through so cars come down and have to turn around all throughout the night. No big deal but as other reviews said, it’s really really dusty here. Every time a car passes, everything gets covered. I cannot imagine tent camping here in the rain.
Also a little respect when camping. I woke up at 5am, and 515am, and 530am, bc a boondock camper had a alarm set and kept snoozing it and it’s not even 7am and another camper who make shift set up in the woods is blasting TuPac. Hey, I like Tupac but many people are still sleeping and mind your camping etiquette.
When I dry camp, I do it for space and peace, but this was the same as a hostel.
Great coverage for ATT. Usually I do not want this camping, but it’s nice if you need to plan the next day of your trip! I did have to clean up cans and trash from the site as well, but Welcome to Colorado!

There is a great site to the right just before the high voltage tower next to the road that goes back in away from the road. If you go beyond the tower there may not be a turn around for a while. We walked past the tower for about a mile and did not see any more sites. Quiet and only one other camper that we saw. Excellent T-Mobile cell reception.

Stayed here for a few nights. Well maintained road. Was easy to get in and out, even in the snow. Forest service stopped by today to inform us that we had to leave because they were closing the gate for winter.

Pack it in, pack it out. Had full AT&T usable service.
