We pulled in after sunset just before the sun went down and came upon some sketchy characters. Obvious drug use/abuse going on. People ducking out of site/hiding when we came through. We parked in a spot anyway and within moments of doing so we were approached by some of the long term campers who were obviously on edge & upset. They warned us that there were some “crazy”/dangerous people around actively robbing people day and night... including rumors of a dangerous man they had yet to see in person (the man we spotted ducking out of sight) then they said “I hope you have a gun”. We didn’t feel safe even with a large dog and protection on hand. The area is gorgeous but it is not currently safe. There is also only one narrow dirt road in or out of the area and there is no cell service....easy spot to be targeted or trapped. Don’t risk it.

Mark is a friendly and attentive camp host for this small campground. There are seven individual campsites and a cabin that can be rented. There is a paved trail near the cabin that leads to the convergence of two (small at that point) rivers where there is a lovely swimming hole, plus other dirt trails to the water.
My campsite was very spacious and accommodated my 31’ rig and provided a raised area with a picnic table and fire ring. There is firewood available for $5. It is a forest so I had to use my generator and could not rely on solar but I appreciated the beauty and shade of the trees.
There are other trails that start from the main road on the other side of the bridge. I particularly liked the sweet, herbal smells in this area. Black Capped Chickadees and Red Breasted Nuthatches kept my binoculars busy and I could hear what I believe was a Barred Owl calling at night.
One negative was the noise from the ATV drivers on the road that led to the campground. This only happened one day.
RVPat would stay here again
