We didn't stay in Lower Hunting Creek, rather, keep driving down the road and you can find numerous dispersed camp sites. It's BLM land so gun fire is expected, but we were so well hidden I heard one very close by, yelled, and the person was close enough to hear me and apologize. Not cool as I know where they were and they were not following the rules. The wheeling was half way decent too! Nothing super technical, but fun enough to do a little flexin' and exploring. We were there over Memorial Day Weekend and it didn't feel busy at all. I should note we were not Trailer camping. We were tent camping for the weekend. I personally wouldn't tow my 30 foot trailer out there.

Camped by a clear running stream, used stream water for washing me and dishes. Beautiful waterfall only a 10 minute walk. The only cell service is a 45 minute walk to the top and over to the west side and only 2 bars. Best way is to come down from Clear lake, the 45 miles from Winters is really poorly maintained road. The area is great for off road toys

“DISGUSTING, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!”
noted 10/24/2019
Thoroughly disappointed with this spot, the camp is mostly one large parking lot with fire rings and picnic tables. There is one site secluded off of the parking lot but it was small and riddled with human feces. Down further was an undeveloped camping spot that was closed off. Don't waste your time coming here, littered in trash, the most broken glass I've ever seen at a campground, the "creek" is more or less a stream, human facial matter and dirty toilet paper littered along the tree line. Road was rough to get down, nicely secluded and quiet, but simply not possible to enjoy. Ended up leaving after 30min due to the smell.
