“Quiet Location, Adequate Space”

We purposely camp midweek to avoid the hustle and bustle of crazy weekends. It is easier for us, with our last minute, impromptu style to find open sites during the week. The camp host was great. Our site was spacious and though gravel was very level. The site only had electric, no water or sewer. It was easy to fill with water at a convenient spot not far from the office where we checked in. We did not use the dump station as it was in an inconvenient spot right along the busy road into the park and on the wrong side of our trailer. Enjoyed close access to fishing on Lake Minnewaska at Starbuck.

The campground loops are perched on glacial eskers above a land locked lake. The sights are fairly close together. Electricity is available. Water is at scattered hydrants and the sanitary dump station. Sites vary - some have fairly level parking areas whereas others are oddly sloped.
Due to covid, the modern restrooms were closed. Both vault toilets and a portable toilet were available.
The lake is clean and open for fishing and bathing. The canoe rentals are closed for covid. Hiking trails are available.
