Went for the Wildflower Festival and campground was full even on weekdays. Got the last spot available for a couple of days. Campground Host Merry was very helpful and kept the grounds and facilities very clean.

This is a very scenic location with the lake directly adjacent to the campground (a few sites right on the lake) and great views of the mountains. Access for hand propelled watercraft. There are very nice hiking trails with a 2-3 mile loop directly from the campground going up to Lost Lake and Dollar Lake. The campground facilities had been upgraded a few years back and were in very good shape.
This campground has become very popular. We arrived about 2:30PM on a weekday in early September and discovered the campground had been full since about 8AM. We drove back down the access road and managed to find a decent spot to boondock for the night but even those were in high demand. We were back at the campground at 7:30AM and got the last site available.
The lake and trails also see a lot of day use which means a lot of traffic through the campground. So great scenery, great hiking and boating options and nice facilities. The down side is that it's so nice everyone wants to go there.

Campground was full. So we stayed outside of campground. It was great! Even though we were on the road it was peaceful. Day use facilities were great. Hiking was great for short, but scenic hike.
Enjoyed the ease to get there and no cell service is what I was looking for.

“Nice but - not 5 stars”

Gorgeous location for real....but no hook-ups, no cell coverage, extreme dust when dry, etc... really a high-end "boondocking" experience.

I did not list the campsite number because frankly, I forgot about writing it down. But you can't go wrong picking almost any site on the lakeside (Lost Lake Slough) for the view. Even the other sites are fine. This campground is well maintained and when we were there, the camp was great to us. The views are some of the best we've seen with what looks to be some very pristine lake and forest. I am no fisherman but was able to catch a rainbow trout and have him in the frying pan within 15 minutes of it being out of the water. There is great hiking here as well. Tow other lakes (Lost Lake and Dollar Lake) that you can hike to on a 3.0-mile loop.
At the time we were there, (June) they still had not turned on the water spigot, so check before you go.
All of the roads and sites are dirt. They had not received rain in quite some time so everytime someone drove by, the dust really kicked up as it did when it was windy. The only reason we left, was because of the dust. It got into everything. We did not receive cell coverage on either AT&T nor Verizon.
