“Beautiful Secluded Spot, No Service”

I found a beautiful, secluded spot way down Long Draw Road. Stayed mid-week so there wasn’t much off road traffic. I didn’t get any service with Verizon cell or my At&T hotspot. Also it was super shady so my solar panels weren’t getting enough rays.

We were able to get our 29ft TT into the grass spot of the parking lot. However we wouldn’t have been able to if there was anyone parked on the road side of the parking lot. We also had to ask our neighbor to move their car in the morning to get out.
Our 2 neighbors were nice. We also had the man from Nebraska that had been coming there for 15 years. He had no smoking and stay out signs all over, but was harmless.
The camp host from Hannah let us use their trash and water pump. He was very nice and visited the older gentleman a few times.
There is another great boondocking site right before Hannah campground if this one is full!

Dispersed camping in the Hills is the perfect way to refresh body and soul at the end of the week. Camping in the Hills is an activity we can decide at short notice and be connecting with Nature, instead of our phones, within an hour from home. This private spot near Lead was an excellent choice for wildlife viewing. We watched as Osprey dove into the pond for dinner, a beaver swam across to its dam, fish jumped, and we were chirped at by a sentinel marmot alarming others to our presence. We had a “neighbor” that has spent 15 years visiting this pond, and we had “dinner and a show” when a local man dropped by to do a bit of fly fishing on his way home. We completely unplugged from our electronics and enjoyed talking without distraction other than Biz and the birds. Get out and unplug. Get rid of the alarm clock for a few days and wake up to the sounds of nature.
Cons: Continuous daytime ATV convoys passing by. VERY noisy and creating lots of dust

The site was relatively level with a stream flowing into a small lake and great mountain views. There was a fire ring and plenty of dried wood close by to gather for a fire. The site was a great size for one camper. It was clean, relatively quite and is located approximately 30 yards from the forest road. The stars were amazing. The road is busier than I expected it to be and we even had a semi truck with equipment traveling the road. Some traffic was moving 40 plus mph. We camped there Sunday thru Tuesday. There was Verizon phone coverage but 4g seemed to be available only when standing closer to the lake. There is a small village of Hanna about 1/2 mile away and the Hanna campground is approximately a mile away. We saw it had potable water available seasonally. We drove into Deadwood for dinner one night and the drive was about 20 minutes one way.

There's enough room for two, maybe three rigs if someone's already there. But there's also another amazing spot off Hana Rd. as your driving up to this spot. This is off Hanna rd a few hundred feet on NP 209 (44.257245, -103.841618). Love this for our dogs, they can be off lead & romp! Super quiet, private & peaceful... heavenly. Four TV stations, no internet. Phone sometimes works. No garbage disposal, pack it in, pack it out.
