When I last camped here in 2019 the road inside the campground was terrible. It's now nicely graveled and free of most potholes. The dirt road in to the campground still sucks though. Water pressure at the faucet across from site 9 was excellent, even though it doesn't have a hose bibb. There are quite a few of these faucets located around the campground. The only faucet with a bibb is next to site 1.
Due to the trees surrounding site 9, solar on top of an RV will be limited. There was plenty of room to deploy my ground panels. Northern sky access for Starlink was readily available.
The campground host was friendly and very competent.
Fishing from shore was poor. Even the guys in boats weren't doing well.
My only noise complaint was all the geese. LOL!

This campground is in the Gallatin National Forest and located on Hebgen Lake. Reservations are made through recreation.gov Currently all sites are available for reservations. Per the campground host if someone no shows they are required to wait until 6:00 pm the day after the reservation. At that point they can make it FCFS and accept payment. At the beginning of the season (May) the campground is typically FCFS only. If you have the senior or access America the Beautiful Pass you do qualify for 50% off camping fees. This campground charges a facility use tax, lodging tax and $8.00 reservation fee.
The campground is a one way loop road that has 27 back in sites. There are both dry camping and electric only sites. There are a few water spigots at the campground. The only one that was threaded was up near the entrance/host. There is NO dump station here. There is a boat ramp. Campground hosts also rent kayaks for use on the lake.
The campground is located approximately 3 miles from highway 20 of which the last 0.6 is gravel. It’s definitely a bit rough/washboard. The road within the campground is also gravel and there are some decent sized potholes. The campsites themselves are gravel and spaced out decently. There are many mature trees located throughout. It was a bit tight making some of the turns in the park due to the trees. Some campsites back up to the lake. Each campsite had a picnic table, fire ring, and bear box.
Site 21 was plenty long enough for our 37 foot class A and Honda CRV. The site was fairly level. There were no low hanging trees and it was decent for solar. Previously did a review for the campground in 2021 and stayed in site 13. While I liked that site and thought I would stay there again, I liked 21 a lot better. There were less trees to deal with getting into this site. If I wanted a water site I would probably choose 9 or 10.
There are bear proof trash cans and recycling bins located in the campground. Bathrooms are vault toilets. They were always clean when using them.
Did have 2 bars of Verizon signal at site. It was ok to text, search the internet, and stream videos.

Small single loop with easy road in, some potholes but nothing crazy. A lot of spots right on the water. Strong 5G T Mobile signal, $20. Other nearby free sites did not have good cell service. Right on a gorgeous lake and completely silent once a couple generators shut off. Highly recommend

The road around is tight and there are really bad potholes. Also the water spigot was at the front of the campground and we didn’t see it. The rest of the water hoses don’t have adapters. Beautiful scenery and close to Yellowstone. Cheap too. All things considered, we’d go back.

Toilets available, but did not use them so unable to evaluate cleanliness. Site had picnic table, fire ring and bear box. Site 13 had some shade, but still able to get some solar during the day. The gravel road to the campground was a bit rough/washboard, but not too bad. There are some pretty good sized potholes in the campground itself. That being said, it wouldn’t keep me from coming back here. Would definitely consider booking same site. Booking easily done through Recreation.gov. Verizon signal 3-4 bars. Able to call, text, and stream videos.
