Not all campsites are equal. #11 was premium in my eyes. Also Verizon had 4 to 5 bars.

The campground drive is paved, the campsite pads are paved, water and trash containers are located nearby, and the restrooms were clean. The campground store and restaurant are located a short distance away, the laundry and showers were closed for the season. Our campsite was spacious and included a table and fire ring. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here at this campground and we would definitely return.

The site was largely level side to side. The angle of our site gave us a huge amount of space between the camp side neighbors.
Our site was backed up to the road in, but traffic noise wasn't bothersome. The shuttle stop is nearby, along with a market that you can purchase groceries etc. at. The restaurant and visitor center were closed for 2022.
No hookups, but threadless water spigots are dispersed around the campground. There is a potable water fill and dump station down the road, so be sure to top up before setting up.
Lots of fallen trees around but that's just how it works sometimes.
Zero cell coverage on ATT nor T-Mobile with a roof mounted Pepwave antenna. We were able to get sufficient Starlink coverage for streaming, though it wouldn't work for video calls.
Solar coverage was acceptable but lots of tree blockage cutting down on production. Our portable panel was the most useful here.

The ranger told us there had previously been a tree, but we noted the lack of shade and privacy in this site with no tree cover. The site was both close and far enough from the restrooms, water, and trash facilities. It also offered easy access to the river, the campground shuttle stop, and the Tokopah Falls trailhead.

Old growth forest; spacious, private sites with lots of understory. Our camp hosts, Jason and Michelle, were amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable ... just the best. They work hard to keep the place pristine and it shows. We will be back.

Sites are close together but nice enough. Bathrooms are decent. Good access to water and dump sites. Visitor center, market, and showers are all closed currently (NPS website indicates they’re open) which was a bummer. Would stay again.

We took a chance on finding a campsite here on a Sunday night in September without a reservation. It was after 7pm by the time we reached the campground and the ranger had closed the register but said there were about eight empty sites left and we could pay in the morning after 8am. We were happy to find a campsite, and not only that but site #66 was amazing and offered more privacy than others in that loop. #66 is not big enough for a RV but if you are tent camping or camping out of your vehicle like us, this is a great site to choose! There’s a big area behind the parking space with a fire pit, picnic table, bear box, and plenty of room for a tent or two. There are steps leading up to it so it wouldn’t be very handicap accessible. The nearby bathroom had stall toilets and sinks. There is drinking water available. It was very quiet the night we were there and camping under the trees was very serene. Birds and chipmunks to watch in the morning. We had no service with AT&T.

Love this campground! Your experience here really depends on which site you get, so make sure to log in and reserve as far in advance as possible. My favorite sites are the hike-in tent sites right along the river. Not too long of a walk, but it gives some separation from the more crowded sites near the road. The river sounds completely drowned out any other campground noise. Some of the campsites in this campground are practically on top of each other, so do your homework when picking a site! Those crowded sites could be nice if you're with a group, though. This campground is full of beautiful tall old growth trees, which is why i like staying here above the other campgrounds in the park. Conveniently located to the main park attractions like Giant Forest, General Sherman tree/trail and congress trail. Make sure to bring your own hand soap to the bathrooms. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table and bear locker.
