Lockett Meadow Campground

Beautiful campground however difficult drive up the mountain. Bumpy and at some points narrow... I’d be extra cautious if coming up during a rain storm. We drove up in a 21ft tow behind RV and made it up fine (need to be self-contained). It’s first come first serve with some of the spots being close but overall amazing experience. Several hiking trails as well.

This was a single night stay over site for us and our friends. We're traveling in a pair of class A RV's (40 and 45 feet.) We found two different spots large enough for both of us, had dinner and breakfast and left midday. Stars are bright and the area was clean and quiet. This area of Flagstaff only recently thawed and they've had some rain. We nearly got the 45 footer stuck in the area next to the proper dirt path. As another reviewer reported Verizon coverage was 3-4 bars and 5 minutes later it was non-existent. Be careful of that and you'll have a great time boon docking here. Also, note your GPS may have trouble finding this spot. Google calls it Loop Road. Also note that Sunset Crater is directly across 89 from this dry camping area. So if you find the turn for the crater just turn the other direction off 89 and you'll be there.
