We stayed here for a few nights is late September. No other campers, but a handful of large truckers use daily as a turnaround (?)/pit stop. Did not see any NF personnel, but there is a sign that says camping is $10/night with an iron ranger. Each of the 3 “sites” has a number with a “fee necessary” on the post. Did not see any NF personnel, but there is a sign that says camping is $10/night with an iron ranger. Each of the 3 “sites” has a number with a “fee necessary” on the post. Does not specify if you just park in the parking lot if you’d have to pay. Half price for senior pass. Far enough from highway that we didn’t notice the noise. A few min drive to quite a few trailheads. Would definitely consider stopping here if it was on our way again. Any size rig could come in and turn around without issue.

This place has 3 sites with campfire ring and picnic table, nobody was there when we stayed in late September. Worst case scenario though, there’s a big parking lot so if you just have a camper/RV you could drive up and sleep. One pit toilet. It’s right off the highway which is convenient. You can hear the cars drive by but between the tree coverage, being in my trailer, and it’s not a very busy highway at all, I never noticed the noise but thought I’d mention it. Permit required between January?? to April 30.

It's a super good spot to visit Mount Hood area : as a regular campground (table, fire pit, vault toilet) but for free. There is just 3 sites for tents. It's close to the road, but paying campground next door are also close to the road and traffic is not really high at night. We stayed there begging of July, the first site at left. It was big, with a lot of trees and shade. Deer came at night. Some people were on the two others spots, I'm not sure they were really campers, more "freaky hunters" but they were really nice!

We pulled in here while exploring lots of choices in the area. It is close to the highway so a very convenient pull off. There are two spots that are more like dispersed spots with tree cover and a fire ring. One of them is larger and the other a tighter fit. Vault toilet in parking lot, no AT&T cell service.
Permit needed in winter (Nov 1-April 30)
