This campground has the most uneven sites!! Some are level but most are ridiculously off. I could not possibly fit into #26 so I had to get a nonelectric spot and it is warm.
Staff was very nice but no offer for any refund or even some firewood so this price for a non-electric site is a joke.
It is a pretty area, it is relatively quiet but definitely not big rig friendly unless you manage to get a level spot.

A gem of a state park just east of Beckley, West Va. Drive in on Rt 307 off 64 was steep and curvy, we made it in a 44 ft motorhome; just go slow. Check in was easy, go all the way into the park to the campground, another winding road. About 25 water/electric sites tucked in the trees with gravel and fire pit. Site 19 fit our large rig fine but most sites were smaller. Bathhouse was clean and convenient, staff were nice and helpful. So many hikes in this park right from the campground. The trail map was not good so use AllTrails or any other hiking app to avoid getting lost. Park is about 45 minutes from New River Gorge Bridge, a must do visit. Verizon was good but unable to access satellite TV due to tree cover. Didn't rate a 5 just because no sewer hookups but dump station easy to access. Will definitely return!

We love this campground and can’t wait to come back. We love quiet campgrounds like this and were on site #18 and will definitely reserve it again. We have a 44ft toy hauler and it was a great amount of space. Some other great sites here are: 17, 15, 14, 13, 9, and 7. You can see more of our camping adventures at Instagram.com/megh... more

Site 1 had some leveling issues but nothing as bad as site 19. The road to the park was a tight winding two-lane country road with a few steep sections for a 37' class A with toad but do-able. Site #1 was gravel, 50amp with water no sewer U-shaped pull-thru could have had a wider ark but that's me just being picky. Had to block the rear tire to get up to level just to set my jacks. Didn't get to check out the restrooms. Nice quiet peaceful park. Saw the dump station but didn't use it.

There are a number of hikes within the park as well as a lake. They have one dump station but having so few sites the dump was pretty quick. We had Verizon service but I didn't pay attention to the bars or 4g since we had wifi for surfing. So my information is a guess on the low side. I spent a few nights out doing astro stuff and it was a pretty good spot to be.

Typical state park. No full hook ups but for $33 can’t complain. Sites seem mostly level. With a bigger camper you might want to come in from route 19. Nice friendly staff.

We agree with the previous reviews. This is a gem! Quiet, clean, friendly staff, lovely setting, and spacious sites. TMobile was a little weak, but we were still able to email, surf the web and watch some YouTube. We loved the hiking trails in the park, but there a lot to do and see within 30-40 minutes as well. We’ll be back!

Variety of spots with woods, full sun or partial. Variety of back in and pull through. Nice area for tents as well. Beautiful lake for fishing and lots of trails. Plenty of friendly deer. As it was late fall and a weekday it was very quiet and peaceful. Will come here again for sure.

We were here for an overnight. It was great. Beautiful big trees. Quiet. Nice bathrooms and shower house. Very clean. Not many people camping here. For our 22 ft motorhome, access on the steep winding road was no problem.
