Can’t give it zero stars, but the campground is closed. All the grass is dead and there are barriers to the entrance and exit.
Talked to a local and she THINKS the City is trying to keep the homeless out.

I concur with what has been said by the most recent reviewer. Where can you find a well maintained campground with bathhouse, fresh water, and even 30 amp electric for free? As of 9/10/2022, NO DUMP STATION. It is now sealed up and blocked off, permanently or temporary, I do not know.

They called us early the next morning to say they are open. We stayed one night. We used the free electric hookup and used the nice hot showers. I love this park and wish we could make a donation the their Lions club. Would definitely stay again.

October 21, 2021. We wanted to stay here two nights but when we arrived the campground had been closed for the season. We called ahead and left a message and phone number but our call was never returned. The sign on site says they closed October 5th. It looks like a nice park so we will keep the location for next year.

This place was a nice place to stay however the park gets A LOT of foot traffic. People were nice but there is a lot of campers/tents and they seem local. One of the electric boxes need work. The city was working on it. The day we were going to leave we tried to use the dump that is located near the dumpster. It started to over flow and it was a huge mess. A local came up to us and said the dump tends to do that a lot. Geeez wish there was a sign. It was not a good situation. Besides the mess we had to drive 10 mins from our route to dump. Grounds are level, we were getting 2-3 bars Verizon. There are water spigots throughout the park.

The park is easy to find, right on a main road in this cute, quaint little town. It's clean and we felt relatively safe here. We stayed on the second site in from the road in our 36' travel trailer. This was the only site available when we arrived between 1 and 2pm on a Sunday. This park has a 2 night / 3 day maximum. Sites with electric are graveled, pretty level and convenient to get in and out of. The electric posts could use some attention. Ours had an unusable 30A socket and there was something stuck in the ground hole on one of the 120 sockets. There are community water spigots and bathrooms on site however both indicated that they were still winterized. The dump station is right next to the Army National Guard building directly behind the park. There's also a nice small covered picnic area and playground in the center of the park and 3 or 4 non electric, grass tent sites on the opposite side of the park. It was pretty quiet for being in town. HyVee grocery store and Tractor Supply are right across the street. Other shops and businesses are also conveniently close by. Would recommend and would stay again if passing through.

We parked in the spot closest to the street and hooked up to electricity. There’s also a children’s playground and some grass to play on, although we didn’t do so.
