Absolutely loved our 4 night stay here. We Actually Started In Lakeside, Which Be Warned Have No Running Water Only Concrete Outhouses. Since We Were Having Older Family Over, We Moved To Plainview Instead. In Fairness The Shower Houses And Running Water Are Within Long Walking Distance Of Lakeside, But Was Convenient To Be Closer. Almost No Cell Signal, No Complaint There. Plainview Is Closer To A Neighboring Farm Which Produces Some Noise And Insects During Harvest. But All In All Just Minor Detractions From Our Stay. Lots of great trails, small book share station, friendly hosts. Quiet at night.

From the time we started planning, the host and folks at the park were super helpful! These newbies had lots of questions before our first time out! We arrived with no reservation and no problem! He asked if we had any preferences-I requested pull thru near a water hookup and it was easy breezy! Camping this early in the season there were only a few spots taken. Though they do not have any sites with full hookups, all have electric (ours had 50 30 and 120) There are plenty of water spigots placed around the campground so you can fill your tank for the weekend, and there is a double dump station when you’re ready to pull out.
We were in spot 6. 1-10 are all pull through but they are along a road. It wasn’t too busy though-just an occasional car whizzing by through the night. The park is beautiful! We stayed at the Plainview Campground, but there is also the Lakeside Campground. It was not open for the season yet-but looks like it has beautiful views of the lake! From what we could see, those spots also had electric but we aren’t sure about water placement. The dump station has potable water spigots-so maybe that is for lakeside to fill up.
The town of Marshall is ADORABLE! You would be wise to spend an afternoon exploring their downtown with cute shops and restaurants. There are gorgeous murals to see all around, and don’t miss the worlds largest gavel! Friday nights during the summer they have a municipal band that plays on the square!

When we pulled up to the campground we were greeted by the camp host. When we asked about the 2 different campgrounds he offered to take us for a ride around on a golf cart.
We loved Lakeside but because we were only staying for the night we chose to stay at Plainview because it was easy pull in with tow still attached and then easy pull out in the morning. It was beautiful with a gravel, fairly level site, a fire pit and picnic table. There was plenty of firewood that was available to use.
This campground had a huge community fire ring, surrounded by logs to sit on, there was a horse shoe set and bathrooms with showers and a family bathroom. There was a beautiful playground and lots of trails to hike or walk. This campground was extremely clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Dan & I are looking forward to returning and staying for at a week.
Ok this is a little crazy… while we were hanging out a gentlemen came over and asked “are you Dan Hunt”, and told us how he had been watching our YouTube channel and has seen all of our videos. It was really cool.
