We arrived a few minute after 5:00 PM and the gate house was closed. We saw no staff at all on our overnight stop. Road into the park was like driving the tail of the dragon. I would not return to this park.

This is a very well kept campground. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they take great care of the grounds. The bathrooms were scrubbed daily, we never had a problem with neighbors or noise. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Site 33 was perfectly level side to side and easy to get into with our 27' TT. The hookups were good (only 30 amp electric, which is exactly what we needed), not hard to get to as some other campgrounds are. The bathhouse is just a few steps away, really from anywhere on the grounds as there are several bathhouses. If you stay here, you must eat at the Fork, you'll see it on your way in. There isn't much within 25 to 30 minutes of the grounds but that wasn't a problem for us. We will definitely be back!

Our price reflects the senior discount - yay! Our price reflects the senior discount - yay! The road going into the campground is very, very steep (which I had been warned about), so be prepared for that and it's a long way from "anywhere" - which is a good thing! We arrived early and the host at the check in was extremely nice - thanks Bridget! She even came by our site later to ask if it was ok - it was beautiful! The best sites in my opinion: 20, 22, 24, 26 & 28 as well as 69, 70, 72 & 73. There are a few nice ones in the 46 to 50 range on the lake side. The tent sites 10, 11 & 12 are very cool! The ones in the center of the big loop mid-70s & 80's are packed in and some are almost overlapping. Too squished for us. Our site was plenty long, nicely level and had an incredible view of the lake! Bathhouse was decent - showers laid out well, so your clothes don't get wet. Free laundry! Yes, free!
Disregard the prior review below mine - everyone was pleasant here (that reviewer has only one review). It was a great stay! Oh - lake is clean water, awesome temp (in July) and we had a beaver swim by and feed right in front of our site for 15 minutes! 4 stars for access, because of how steep the road is (which I'm dreading going up tomorrow - ha ha!). T-Mobile 1 bar LTE off & on, but our travelfi picked up enough for me to post this review! :)

This is a nice off the beaten path ACOE campground on the south side of Dale Hollow Lake. They are a little strict which I guess keeps the rowdies out. As a couple examples they made our neighbor across the street move his vehicle and boat trailer off his campsite, and waved st me telling me to slow down after entering the campground. I was doing a whopping 20 mph. As a result the campground is very quiet, no loud music, no loud kids, nothing. Kinda wierd. I felt guilty to play any music at my normal louder volume. Be good or get booted!
They have a little sandy beach but once you start going in the water the rocks are sharp. We reached down and pulled a few out. Some actually looked like arrowheads! Good for rock skipping tho lol. The cove we stayed near also had boats coming and going so once it was the July 4th weekend it was time to stop swimming in the cove.
The campsites themselves are paved with tiny rocks which makes them wedge in your shoes and you end up taking them everywhere if you don't take your shoes/sandals off first. I could however walk around the campsite in my barefeet which was nice.
The electric and water hookups were old and I had to fiddle with them to get them to work.
Overall this is not a bad place but in reality it's a boaters campground and also kind of restrictive to freedom.
